The most helpful thing you could have done was post your proof. Isn't it possible that he realized that he didn't make things known that he wanted to be known until after the two of you started communicating? Why jump straight to accusing him of being a lying scammer?
Echoing my first comment, maybe he saw how things went south with the pm's between you two and thought that he should be more specific in his listing to avoid further miscommunications. I do see in the sale thread you're reffering to that shepard also stated that he would accept money order, check, or cash, were these options not made available to you? I have a hard time believing that he would have said that your only option is pp gift and nothing else, but anyone else interested has other options.
Saying it's no big deal while simultaneously calling him a liar and a scammer repeatedly isn't making you seem like a reliable source of information. Shepard explained why he chooses pp gift, having recently read the stickied [post=13314851]thread[/post] at the top of this section I can understand shepard's position regarding pp. It's not how I would choose to pay, but if he had an item I wanted, I would try to make other payment arrangements. You should take your own advice here, this could have been polite and over but you chose to come into this thread marked good and convince others that he is bad. Saying you have proof doesn't validate anything you've said.
You're only considering this from
your perspective. In my opinion, you are conducting business in the form of leaving feedback, would you consider your comments here in this thread to be ethical and polite? If you disagree with my opinion that you are doing business, does your philosophy of being ethical and polite only apply to when you consider yourself to be doing business?
Right now, you seem to be the one with anger issues while slinging the most mud. Most of your posts in this thread have been rude and unethical, that's not an "opinion",
it's a provable fact.
All of that aside:
You claimed that shepard was a liar and a scammer. What exactly did he lie to you about? How exactly was he trying to scam you?
I don't know shepard or you, never saw or heard of either of you before this thread. Both of you have 100% positive feedback, obviously the both of you have done things right in the past. The way you represented yourself in this thread is not good.
Finally, three rules that apply to this (
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=892&a=98)
Section Two, Sellers, rule 6
Be specific with all details of payment. There is no eBay style auctioning allowed. If you want to entertain trade offers, say so in your sales thread (For Sale Or Trade); it is allowed.
Section Two, Buyers, rule 3
Be prompt with your payment.
The seller has the right to determine how they want payment and if they will work with you.
Section Two, Buyers, rule 5
Do not post in a person's thread unless you have an implicit interest in buying the item. Posts like, "Nice knife!", "Why is the price so high/low?", "I wish I had funds" are not allowed. This means absolutely no commentary or feedback in someone's sales thread. Seriously, if you stomp on someone's ad, your account can and will be locked. The only exception to this is in the Knife Makers Market areas (if the maker/craftsman requests and welcomes feedback). Save questions and offers for email rather than cluttering the thread.
Regarding sellers rule 6 - Isn't it possible that he realized his mistake and then edited his ad to comply with bf rules?
Regarding buyers rule 3 - He didn't break any rules wanting pp gift.
Regarding buyers rule 5 - See that larger bit of text? You should probably go edit the comment you left in that thread as it is a violation of the rules.
