Protourist,

Beautiful Shepherd. One breed I really admire but have never owned

Yes,they are fine looking dogs, but read up on them before you get one;)-Know what you are in for,but they will get to your heart:)Regards Butch

Oh definitely, one of my biggest annoyances is hearing people complain about their dogs because they didn't do their research beforehand

When I was at my folks' house I got to see my old "dog". A friend found him walking the street and gave him to me when I was 7. I'm 45 now.
He just got finished eating a head of lettuce before this pic was taken. He loves the avocadoes we feed him too.

We figure he was roughly 75 when I got him. He's great. Every once in a while he walks in the house, looks around and walks back out. I'd love to know what he is thinking.

If you're the reading type, check out Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. The main character is a god who loses all his worshippers and falls to earth as a tortoise. Very funny.

Great dogs edgyone!
Jake looks like a real sweetheart.
Emma looks like she means business!

protourist- is that a desert tortoise? I ran into one of those when I was at Ft. Irwin years ago. My Dad used to collect tortoises, and we had quite a few in the house while I was growing up. As the family grew, most were sold or traded off. He hung onto a Burmese Brown and an African Leopard for a while, though, but eventually ended up donating them to the Cincinnati Zoo. My little brother keeps a couple of Sulcatas, and we bougt Dad a replacement Leopard for his birthday several years ago.

OK- back to dogs. :o:p:D

:D Thanks, MacHette!

You nailed it on the head - Jake was failed 'pig dog'. He wanted to lick them rather than hunt them, so we got him for a bargain at a country animal shelter.
