Honestly, I love it! I absolutely love it! And I can promise your not loosing any lateral strength. Light, solid and sturdy!Looks great Jason! I’m curious to know what you think about the lightweight build compared to the original GEC set up.
I bet you GAIN lateral strength. Micarta and g10 are stronger than brass and the steel they use for slipjoints I’d guess. The look is novel. I’m going to keep looking and see if it grows on me, but as always you’re work is top notch.Honestly, I love it! I absolutely love it! And I can promise your not loosing any lateral strength. Yea, gec liners are pretty flimsy. Both steel and brass. I appreciate the kind words. I have a couple customer knives to complete next then a small group of 71's I'll be doing soon. 4 to be exact. At least 2 and probably 3 of them will be lightweights.I bet you GAIN lateral strength. Micarta and g10 are stronger than brass and the steel they use for slipjoints I’d guess. The look is novel. This one, no. 71's yes.Great looking knife I'd love to have one wii you be selling any?
Thank you sir!Great work my friend!
Thank you!Really liking those case shadow patterns. Pretty work!
That one is cool, Jason. I bet some of those carvers on the porch would appreciate this one a lot (and a fixed bladed version as well, though I don't know how easy that would be to make). Here's a little idea I prototyped today. I'm calling it the pinchable pajama pocket carver. I took an 86 coping blade, shortened the spring and frame. Made the frame more narrow and made it a lightweight. It's about the same size as a GEC #78. Very thin and extremely light. Really great action and w&t. Even though the nick is on the opposite side for righties it is easily pinchable also. The name just kinda popped into my head hearing about all those who are working from and staying home and wearing their sweat or pajama pants all day.Anyway, I will most likely make another one of these for a Porch only GAW very soon once I get some more 1/8" thick material ordered up. Stay tuned!
