You are too kind sir. Thank you very much for your kind words. I really appreciate it!I feel like I'm watching a very talented artist at work, Jason. I want my 93 micarta jigged, contoured like that. Wow, just gifted.![]()
I learned a couple new tricks today! My first time doing jigging and a contoured shield on this #93.

Not a bad way to make use of a blade big enough for most light cutting tasks eh! Keep me posted on how handy those little guys are. I think in the future as people want a blade delete done I'm going to keep offering this as a mod to go along with that procedure. This sweet little gem just arrived. I’m not a whittler but I may have to start.

Surprisingly I did.You did the jigging on that?! It looks incredible. Man, your skill is getting prodigious.
I’ll be carrying it for the next few days to see how it does. It disappears in my pocket and I’m a little nervous that I’ll lose it if it slips out because it has so little weight I don’t notice it. The size is perfect. We’ll see how useful it is, but I have a good feeling it will do everything I need it to do in a knife this size. Not a bad way to make use of a blade big enough for most light cutting tasks eh! Surprisingly I did.Thank you for the compliment. I'm just doing my best to learn and get better everytime.
I've been working on this Farm & Field Hay'n Helper recover. It's a bit of a mulligan, my first attempt ended catastrophically. Which has kind of been a blessing as I got a chance to refocus and learn a few new tricks. Most importantly reliefs for lightweight builds. I don't own a mini mill so I cut them with my shield jig and dremel by hand. They are not the prettiest but 100% functional and a big improvement to lightweight builds.

Before I shape them (unshaped they are flat) I clamp them upside down in my shield jig. I mount my dremel into my router attachment with a 113 cutting bit and use shims to get my depth. I traced out my relief marks and then freehand mill them following the outline first. Someday I'll have a proper mini mill but in the meantime, improvise, adapt and overcome!Do you just control the depth of the cut with your eye and hand control?
I finished up the GEC #47 Hay'n Helper forJfowl31 yesterday. This one is a lightweight conversion covered in some sweet vintage butterscotch paper xx. It has black g10 mill relieved liners and a black paper micarta badge shield. I'm pretty sure Jordan reground the hawksbill blade into a sheepsfoot profile. Very clean regrind! It was an honor to do this one. Jordan has been like a mentor to me in this modding endeavor. Hope you love it buddy!
