Perhaps we should forward this thread to his local police chief? If the cops are going to do anything (which I am still doubtful :grumpy:) then they have way more chances of focusing some of their attention to the matter if they have all the facts down. Once they see the youtube videos they might take this a little more seriously.

Hopefully any other scumbag out there who is thinking of scamming the good people of BF comes across this thread. Don't even think about it because we will be on your ass until you are brought to justice! There are many private investigators and even some government officials on here that won't hesitate to do a little searching of their own if it means taking down a scammer.
 
No , they haven't started an Internal Investigation,
I have heard back, but I am not prepared to respond. I have seen this thread before . Its dejavu. maybe it will end differently. That is our goal and Jozef's.
Even if he never gets his money back. I would thank him for coming forward and taking the backlash of using gift. Just to tell us this guy is some piece of work.
I see urgency but not so much that I'm going to be hasty. I also don't want to burn out. I have to enjoy some of the ride.
 
I fully understand your desire to go slow. However, I am concerned that this guy's Chief (is he is a LEO) will not give it adequate weight if the complaint(s) get too old.
Maybe another E-mail to them with a link here might stimulate their interest?

I have no dog in this fight but like many/most here I despise those that use BFC to steal knives and would love to see this POS nailed.

There are actual crimes here which make better charges. Although claiming to be an officer might make his local police real serious about putting him out of business, making them look bad like that.

I reviewed the thread, and maybe I'm missing something but from the info presented here, I only see:

1) A scammer who's IP addresses have been tracked to a area in Texas
2) A scammer who "CLAIMS" to be a cop

Based on the above, contact has been made with a law enforcement agency advising of a belief that "a local police officer from the La Portearea is online ripping people off".

I am all for seeing justice visited upon the scammer whether they are Police, Military or any profession, but I don't to see any evidence that the scammer is a Police Officer.

Can someone advise me of what I'm missing or connect the dots for me.

The evidence we have he is a police officer as of yet it . NONE, just what he is claiming. Bernard's image post may be significant. without clarity it all seems speculative. I want that out of the equation. They won't /may not want to do the math. that is why I am not just jumping the gun. I don't want to keep going back with bits and pieces either.

bernard , that image is from where? If I check image info. It does have a app # that is the same. Is that significant. Is this the same guy in military uniform I posted?

I don't have internet speed to view youtube ,so do those tattoos look like 11bravo's ?

It's hard to tell from the photo you posted if that is him, this IS him for sure taken from his Facebook. That is 100% the guy from the 11Bravo Youtube channel.

Ok it is him. I have not been to his facebook. I spent time looking for a Valerio there, but with dialup its almost useless. Pages never load .

Is he saying anywhere what department. That uniform looks no frills to me. Like small town. This is why I need all the eyes I can get helping.

We Can Help The Proper Authorities Get Him!

I don't think directing them here would necessarily be the best idea because it is a little hard to follow, as evident here:

It's his claims that he was an LEO, and it's his claims that he's former military. If you follow the links, look at the profiles he's made, and read some of his post; you'll see how it all connected.

No one contacted the PD and said you got a crooked cop on your hands, take care of it... an inquiry was made based on the scammers claims, that's all.

I think a screen shot of the OP's Paypal transaction would also help as far as evidence.

-Screen shot of Paypal transaction and date.
-Screen shot of the sales thread.
-A list of all of the IP addresses AND user names he has used here, and on JD.
-Proof all of his usernames, emails, Paypal and Youtube are linked, either with IP, (although any half minded officer will notice the repetition, "SINDWINDR")
-His post history under "Sledgeh@mmer" IE all trades and sales posts.

Maybe a little late now, but can the OP file a charge back with his bank? I haven't seen that posted yet. After all, the money was stolen from him.

It would be Nice if someone could guarantee interest with the authority to do something. This is where I am not willing to chance it.
If we have what seems to be an irrefutable amount of evidence . Someone has guaranteed us interest. That is our Justice System. I do prefer we start with local LEO departments. Once again, having our ducks lined up. So they clearly show a resident or worse for them and us, one of their own is perpetrating crimes. I only know from what I've learned from life experiences. People aren't going to assume others opinions as facts when it pertains to their friends. I wouldn't.

LEO's are human, like the rest of us. Foul able, I think its sad that anyone would use their public service as self service. No matter what their job description is.
Its a touchy subject and I am aware of those emotions that would make them bias either way.

I prefer not to be tracking down a so called LEO but an internet thief/ scammer . If him using his so called Job gets him caught. I am glad of it. I don't doubt he will be back if he is unaware of this thread or he thinks to highly of himself.

A Justice's post was on the money. This thread should be a norm for this type behavior. As a Caution to those interested in harming this community. They won't walk away without someone taking an interest. This is where The sledgeh@mmer has miscalculated his past successes to equate to his future successes.
 
Well , what would someone suggest we do with this Positive ID. I am a firm believer in individual ideas that can form a consensus.
