WOOHOOOO

Happy new years eve fellas!! Everyone getting prepared for the night? I suspect 8 hours from now ill be good and tipsy.... 10 hours from now ill be drunk.... 12 hours from now i wont know who I am or what year it is....

Have fun and be safe everyone.

Gus had an amazing Bulldog pattern at the last Gathering. One of the thickest bowls I've ever seen. I poked around a couple of times and looked at a few Bulldogs and similarly thick freehands/freeforms. Haven't seen anything that struck my fancy and price range. I saw some amazing pipes in the four and five figure range though (seriously). I used to keep up with a couple of vendors who restored and sold estate pipes at great prices, but I lost those links years ago. A restored Bulldog might be the way for me to go.

Or I could buy a couple of MM's for ten bucks and ride the Bracken with Missouri abandon.

so new york has the famous ball drop but i'm in CA so the ball drop is not live for us.... someone needs to come up with a ball drop in San Fransisco or Los Angelous.. just say'n

Indeed there is 710 :)

Seth Rogen cracks me up!!! Im watching "The Guilt Trip" over here balling laughing. this movie is hilarious so far.

Well I just re-confirmed the reason I hate going to town. I had some things I had to do today due to putting off going into town as long as I could. Went to the PO, then the bank, then the cell phone place, followed by home depot. There went 4 hours of my life I'll never get back and blood pressure that will take the rest of the day to get back to normal. More and more lately I just want to move so far out into the sticks and never be bothered. Id just have to find a liquor store that delivers.

I never found Seth Rogan or Will Ferrell all that funny, however, that Steve Carrell guy cracks me up.

Had some good luck with some antique pipes when I first started smoking. Typically they could be found for dirt cheap, cleaned up/fixed easy as long as the stem/tenon was not broken, and they smoked well. I see those triple digit priced pipes and would love to have them but man, cannot justify something like that. I am not a pipe expert or anything I just know what I like, and well I like smoke so... lol. And everyone is right about the MM's. Great pipe for pennies. Almost disposable, but those stupid filters have to go!

All 3 of those guys are hilarious to me. I think Seth is funnier than Will Ferrell or Steve Carrell. But all of them make me crack up. Comedies are my favorite. Its not as nice as sitting by a fire next to a river, but a quiet night with some funny movies and a nice stiff drink is a nice way to forget im not fishing.

And i agree on hating going to town, Im counting the days until my little piece of land is payed and i can move back down south and leave Philly. The property im buying has a couple years before its payed off and it cant come soon enough. Its only 1.25 acre down a little dirt road, but its connected to more than 20 acres of more woods and it is in a town of less than 1100 people. My father lives a mile or 2 from the land im buying and has a full 80 yard archery/gun range on his property. He also has a piece of land on the Suwannee River that i grew up spending lots of time camping and fishing. Man i cant wait to get back there. Build a big fire on the river bank and fish for some big catfish until the sun comes up, then fry them up for breakfast... man just thinking about it got me homesick.

I feel yah... where I live not is not all that bad but what I hate the most is going into the town where I grew up. The oil field has trashed that place up something fierce. You cannot go anywhere in that town without bumping into some greasy, meth faced, smelly, loud mouthed idiot, his loud mouth meth faced wife/girl friend, and probably some of their off spring running amuck. Couple that with the possibility of seeing someone I may know and its enough to send any man into a fit of rage.

Happy new years eve fellas!! Everyone getting prepared for the night?

Just got back from the store... got all the supplies for tonight. They didn't have any pickled herring :( but I did have a jar of caviar stashed away already, and got all the stuff needed for nachos - including Miss Angie's famous homemade guacamole. Yum!

More and more lately I just want to move so far out into the sticks and never be bothered. Id just have to find a liquor store that delivers.

I hear ya. It's funny you mention going into town, because I was just remarking to my wife that they actually had more than one person working the registers at the store today, so I didn't have to stand there and stew any longer than needed. Normally I walk out of a store scowling and muttering like a crazy person.

As for liquor deliveries... making your own wine or beer isn't hard, and building a still wouldn't be out of the question. ;)

I like it! Nice full grinds and maximum useful edge

ball drop in San Francisco? ... well there's always the red light district... i'd bet there's some of that action going on there..

heh heh heh

I have made my own beer before, and while I wouldn'treally say its hard, I will say its very time consuming. I used to make 5 gallons at a time, which translates to just over 2 cases of beer. That same five gallons was about 4 hours in the kitchen and one month to ferment. Needless to say I can drink two cases in a lot less time it takes to make it.

suh-weet!!
Great work there, and nice curls.

I know what you mean Todd. I find myself watching some of these so called "funny men", and I'm not really laughing at what they do. Actors like Ferrell and Rogan play the same characters in ever movie....themselves. They don't try to convince the audience that they are a certain character, because really they are just themselves.....regurgitating their old stand-up routines. And, we pay to see it over, and over and over again.

Ok, I'll give Ferrell a pass on Talledega Nights and Anchorman....Those are some good funny characters.

Rogan gets a pass on nothing....
