Excellent Sodbusters, gentlemen. I really like that Brown Mule. It looks like just the thing to slip into my lunchbag.

I wonder if it is possible to dye a yellow Soddie a different color. I think orange would be interesting.
Like people have been doing with the Spyderco FRN scales? I'd like to see someone try. I'd love to be able to get a blue (American Workman) Sodbuster with a CV blade.

Both of these are in rotation so they do get carried and used.

Spyderco offers the colored handles as variations. The color is compounded into the plastic resin before it is molded. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to do much to them with dye. Of course, I've been wrong before. Same with the Delrin handles on the sodbusters. However, Delrin may take a dye mod pretty well as the Schrade Old Timers and Uncle Henrys as well as many of the Remington (by Camillus) were dyed Delrin.

I'd like to see some nice wood handled Case Soddies. Maybe that African Zebrawood they've used on a couple of patterns.

True, but I've also seen where people have dyed the white frn scales to choice with rit fabric dye. After a little research, it looks as if the same can be done with white delrin (hits from a yoyo forum popped up), but it doesn't seem to take as well and required boiling.... I really like the zebra wood idea.

Aye... Maybe I should save up my pennies for a custom soddie... Or take to modifying one myself :D

Thanks for the remarks all

This Ingram has a 3" blade in D2 and black micarta - I carry and use it a lot - it is very resilient and feels like the perfect combination between gentlemanly decor and uncompromising workerly competence

I just spoke recently to Mr Ingram about getting the larger version of this, and that will probably become the knife of go to choice in my life - big fan of the 3 1/2"+ blade in a slipjoint. Due Xmas time :)

THis one has a really good, and rather necessary halfstop on it - otherwise I am sure I'd be picking my nose with knuckles and stumps by now :D

How long were you on the list for the Ingram?

edit: I see its due Christmas time. Huh. I'll have to catch up with Mr. Ingram and see where I am on the list...

I have a real desire to give Muskratman a few of those large Moore Maker soddies, and let him go to town on them. Nothing too tricky, maybe one in ebony, another in boxburl and for luxury one in a bit of stag

I have a Case yellow handled Soddie Jr in CV. I understand it's a rather pedestrian knife, but man is she sharp! Bit me a few times before I learned.

Great pattern.

My one & only Sodbuster by K.R. Johnson. Blade & spring are ATS-34 on this one. The one in the middle, of course.
