Speys Welcome!!!!

I wonder if that had anything to do with sanitization processes used?
Paul, thought you may find this fact interesting. Well before OH&S regulations, natural cover materials for purely designated spey blades started to become redundant for the reason you mentioned, and also they were just easier to clean. Synthetic plastics started to become the cover materials of choice. Plastic Bexoid was invented just before the second world war when a lot of knife making was put on hold because they wanted the steel for the war effort. But post WW2 Bexoid started replacing natural covers on a lot of spey blades as well as many pocket knives because it was fairly cheap to make and did not have to be sourced. Then in the 1960's Delrin really burst on to the scene and most spey knives were made with that, and nearly every knife company started using it, look at Case. That's your history lesson for the day. 🥰 🥰 🥰

Thanks, Leon!!! I tend not to like the synthetic stuff but completely understand its place in knives. The synthetics that I do like are the plain ones. Not a fan of the jigged versions. Hard to beat for a hard use knife and very easy to service.

Thank you for the history lesson, buddy!!
