Speys Welcome!!!!

Nice thread, Paul. I like a spey, though admittedly I’ve always considered it more of a secondary blade for my preferred uses. It can be a great slicer (when ground nice and thin), but I always like to have something with at least a bit of a point to it, too.

I don’t think I have any knives that are single spey blades, or even any with a spey main. (I had a couple opportunities to buy a single spey TC, back when things weren’t so hard to come by, but I regrettably passed.) One of my favorite GEC knives is the #15 Farm Boy, with a full-size clip and spey combo. I’ll have to get a new picture to post here, though, as a quick look through my Imgur account didn’t turn up any pics with the spey blade open.

Nice! Looks a lot like the one Paul picked up at the Badger show.

Nice addition to your spey collection. Getting a dedicated spey blade knife with natural covers is a rare occurrence.
Thanks, Leon. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to obtain it.
Awesome group of speys!!!
Just keep all those fine knives in your pockets gents.

😆 🤣 😂

Love those, David. I am so happy to see another Henry Sears and Son. I wasn't sure if mine was modified or not. I am now beginning to think it is original. Thanks my friend.

Honestly I thought the same way until the Badger Show pickup. I am obsessed now. I have noticed the older the spey the finer the edge. For good reason.

Exactly my thoughts after seeing David's Henry Sears and Son !!!!
There are no better slicers out there { although a Case Sodbuster is pretty close } but that is their intended purpose, a quick slice. o_O;)
After carrying more spey only knives, I am realizing how much I like the shape.

Wanna ask before posting:
1) "Does a Moose pattern (equipped with a Spey blade, of course) qualify?"

2) "Do the 'New Style' Spey with extra belly qualify, and are they welcome?"

Thankee much. 😇

I came across this the other day and thought it would be fitting to post here. This is the back label on the tube for the yellow Day’s Work TC Barlow in my pic a few posts back. It’s a nice write-up from Charlie waynorth waynorth on the merits of the spey blade.

Thanks for posting that back label, Barrett!!! Gave me a chuckle to see it again!!!
