SPYDERCO MANIX2 S110V - rope test & Epic Fail !

My s110v bladed Native 5 arrived this past Monday. Used it at work, with its' factory edge, to slice HDPE woven steel wrapping fabric. The s110v blade went three shifts before I decided to touch-up. I also use Elmax and CTS-XHP for the same task; they benefit from touch-up after a single shift.

Maybe the OP got a fake Spyderco? I'd suggest there's something wrong in this thread.

3 persons in 3 different countries met such as result. We could talk about bad knife if only one man did...

Looks like that sellers' other customers gave the s110v Manix five stars! What did the seller say when you complained about the one sold to you?

Where were these suspect blades purchased?
I bought on ebay,is the original knife from spyderco, I can distinguish a copy from a fake.
this is not the case, I doubt as to the hardness of the blade declared by the manufacturer,it's a maximum of 58HRC,based on experience of sharpening and the behavior of steel.

Where did the ebay seller obtain the blade foisted on you? What was the response when you wanted to return it?

:)the seller was very surprised . The subject is, that we used to trust, but sometimes someone starts to check...:)

Didn't get around to doing a video on the Manix 2 before the regrind so it would also be different. ;)

So you would have to go by the link to my testing on that one..

Actually the MT-18 in S110V performed lower than the LW Manix 2 in S110v....

The MT also had a lower HRC... 60 vs 62.5 for the Manix 2...
Mr Oleg have checked the blade hardness using certified device .
Result shows 62 HRC.

Where did the ebay seller get the knife?
understand, it does not matter, from where the seller took the knife,I think he bought it.
in fact we have the original knife from spyderco, with the stated super steel, which does not cut.it's all.

Dunno, just cut 150 on 5/8" Manila and it did fine.... Zero Edge damage and this one was reground to .005" behind the edge and 30 Degrees inclusive... 400 Grit Silicon Carbide...

Sure we can do a lot of experiments directed to "how to make the knife cutting", but the talk of standard model.
Spyderco could provide such as blade geometry at the factory, and we would meet no bad experience with this.
By the way. Regrindind means the warranty loose ...

Yeah I know...

But the same knife did 720 on 5/8" Manila rope before the regrind at 30 Degrees inclusive and 400 Grit...

And 1120 Cuts after, 30 degrees inclusive and 400 grit....

I wonder why we have results different too much... Maybe you have 1st run knife...
Oleg told me that his seller purchased these knives directly from USA .

Couldn't really say...

And I rushed this video so I was using more pressure than I normally would....

From here, it appears that a shipment of fake Spydercos dropped on the Russian market.

If the deficient blades were real Spydercos, the buyers would return them for refunds. It' best to buy from authorized dealers and avoid the fakes on ebay.

Really odd these guys aren't trying to get refunds ...

It costs like $25 to ship from there to the US..

So you figure shipping there and the new one back that's $50..... 1/2 the price of the knife....
