Big brother and little brother. These two see tons of yard and beach time here in Sunny, Sweaty, Salty South Florida.

Heading down to South Texas this weekend for some fishing in the Bay and got these two Salt 1's ready for action. Both modified similar to the SurfinGringo way to give them a better tip. For the SE Salt 1 I stopped the re-grind just north of the edge bevel to keep some tip strength. The SE is for me, and the PE is for my dad because he has an easier time sharpening plain edge blades. He also likes a sharp tip, so he got the full tip re-grind. I kind of regret getting the Salt 1 over the Pac Salt, but I don't need as much blade for the cutting I do, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

I just received a Black P-Salt. I do believe this one will spend more time in my pocket than any other Spyderco. The Salt just makes a whole lot of sense... and, those serrations!

Couple of shots from this past weekend down on the bay with the modded Salt 1 SE. Worked like a charm, especially with the spine delete. My dad liked his a well, but I'm not sure if he is a convert yet. He likes his slim Puma lockback that he has had for years. The serrations really eat their way through material that is for certain. Very happy with the Salt 1, and my older Dragonfly Salt PE for backup.

See if you can spot the salt(s) in these two photos.

Nice bunch of specks Blade Commander. The wife and I will be cooking up a few tonight. :D

Have been out and about and about on the water with my Pacific Salt and I like this knife. It is also my daily work carry EDC which gets covered in sweat every day here in humid SW FL. It works well chunking up Ladyfish & Mullet for bait.

Also came in handy when I inadvertently hooked up a giant suction cup. Stingray with @ 4 foot wingspan will give you quite a workout. You can skip the bicep and back regimen at the gym in lieu of these guys. That spydie hole came in handy as I was able to hold the rod in one hand and deploy the knife with my other to cut through 80 lb test leader to get rid of the insane flapping suction cup.

Normally I would be fishing for Tarpon but it has been slow Tarpon fishing due to the extreme heat here this year so I'll just play with sharks until it cools off a bit.

I used my Salt 1 today cutting corn off the cob for the freezer. Sticky mess but a Spyderco seems right at home.

BC the way you are cleaning that fish makes it very easy to slice your palm open if the blade of a very sharp knife completely penetrates the fish which is easy to do. It scares me to see you do that. You are better off laying the fish sideways, IMHO. It only has to happen one time to make you a believer.

I've been in the same predicament bro. And the ever present cats when I'm trying to snag a red on live shrimp.

Backwater-Otter: Yeah this has been an especially bad year for Gaftopsail Catfish in Charlotte Harbor. It's like a boom cycle for these critters. You can't even get away from them fishing with lures as they'll readily strike artificials.

This thread is going to make me cave in and buy some H-1. Love my waved Endura, but FL can be harsh on blades. I do need a new kayak/fishing knife!

Nice pic bugs. I actually caught a spotted eagle ray off the kayak a couple of months ago trolling a yozuri crystal minnow. Not a foul hook either...he actually tried to eat it. That was a first. Managed to get my lure back...carefully. Once of those guys would ruin your day if he jumped in the kayak with you.

That wouldn't be fun at all. I think I'd prefer a manatee "bumper boat"
