spyderco warranty clarification

The key word you didn't highlight in your post was BROKEN here I'll highlight it for you lol unbelievable
And as for am I an attorney in the army lol no but I have good reading comprehension lol
What are you a lawyer now? Is that your specialty in the Army?

You quoted it yourself:

If a knife fails to function as it was designed, we will examine its condition upon its return to Spyderco, identify why it failed and respond in an appropriate manner.
If we determine there is a defect in the manufacture/materials/workmanship, Spyderco will repair, or replace that product with the same model or one of equal value at its own expense.
If a problem with a returned knife is determined to be caused by something other than a defect in manufacture/materials/workmanship, Spyderco will inform you of whether the product can be repaired and the cost to you of having Spyderco implement such repair (see below). Upon agreement and payment we will perform the repair.

I'm not a lawyer like you but even I can see that even though the exact language isn't there...Thi. part of the warrany that you quoted :p Leaves the door open at least FOR VOIDING THE WARRANTY IF IT GETS. " BROKEN" BY YOU OPENING IT. Then... Syderco's official website/forum's ADMINISTRATOR CLARIFIED IT ONCE AND FOR ALL IN 2010.

Your reading comprehension is lacking lol, the key words you missed are "Leaves the door open for at least"...."Then Spyderco's Admin clarified it once and for all".

The warranty you just quoted proves my point

The warranty you just quoted proves my point

Well what do you know, it proves mine too.

Here, I'll quote it again:

"You quoted it yourself:

See post 81, why wasn't it CLARIFIED ON THE WARRANTY AND BOX? CHANGING WARRANTY via FORUM is not OFFICIAL because there website says otherwise along with the package it came in.
Your reading comprehension is lacking lol, the key words you missed are "Leaves the door open for at least"...."Then Spyderco's Admin clarified it once and for all".

Alright, you're going around in circles LOL. Have fun, I'll chime back in once you prove that Taz lied/gave out invalid info...or you are proven wrong.

Spoiler alert: I'll take her word over yours.

Actually my conversation with spyderco went well quite polite and informative the pleasant woman I spoke with CONFIRMED what the box my knife came in said. The problem is there fanatic fans who misrepresent spyderco like your self.
Are you now calling Spyderco a company that isn't reputable?

He's not calling the information false or anyone a liar. He is simply saying that legally, what is printed on the box and on the web site under "warranty" is what is official and legally binding, not the interpretation or unofficial addition made on an internet forum.

No confusion on my end I read the box and website and called them to get confirmation what else is there to be confused about?
False. People just think you are wrong. Noone is defending Spyderco, they are discussing YOUR confusion with their warranty.

Exactly

RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMINITY AGREEMENT.
By purchasing any item produced by Spyderco, Inc. the buyer assumes responsibility to ascertain and follow all applicable federal, state, local and international laws in having, owning, carrying, shipment, transporting, and use of any Spyderco product. The buyer expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Spyderco, Inc. for all claims resulting directly or indirectly from the purchase, ownership, transportation or use of the item in violation of applicable federal, state and local laws or regulations. Spyderco is not liable for misuse of any Spyderco knife or product purchased either directly from Spyderco or from a dealer/distributor. You must be 18 years of age to purchase Spyderco knives. Spyderco’s WARRANTY gives you CERTAIN LEGAL rights. You may have other rights, which vary in different states and municipalities.

I'm not doubting in any way the warranty, as stated on their box trumps what's stated on the forums, but I'm also reading the words "appropriate manner". That gives the company wiggle room to deal with each case individually.

And usarmy74d called me a fanatic fan.

I prefer fantastic fan!

He at least considers her statements illegitimate so HE IS calling it false. Not the truth... Someone who doesnt speak the truth: liar.

It's funny he replied to you "exactly" just because you are on board lolz.

Made on an internet forum? What forum? Spyderco's official OWNED forum on THEIR WEBSITE? Both ran by Taz? Maybe this part of the warranty isnt enough but it does AT LEAST leave the door open for voiding a warranty from damage caused by the user. It's obviously a touchy subject for them and would like to leave the door open for being able to fix knives that were opened. It's been proven time and again, they will most likely service a knife that has been opened (I had two sent in that way) so thats not in contention and OP didn't solve a great mystery.

What the warranty as is trumps what was wrote on a forum??? Duh and for the wiggle room you speak of I WAS ASSURED DURING MY PHONE CALL WITH SPYDERCO THEY DO NOT VOID YOUR MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WARRANTY UNLESS YOU DAMAGED YOUR KNIFE as for those of us who clean our knives without damaging them it is perfectly OK to do so.

Even your buddy has acknowledged the warranty on there website trumps what was said on a forum.. but keep going because this will be sweet when they stand behind THERE WRITTEN PUBLISHED WARRANTY I look forward to your CONFUSION ENDING LOL

What you're missing is I'm not worried about the warranty LOL. I've known for years Spyderco will take care of me in a fair and honest way.
It's your crusade, not mine LOL.
