Tuf-Glide.
No idea about the washers in the 738.
if it has nylon washers and the tuf glide lube has a petrolium base it will do what you have described . If that is the case the nylon washers are no longer good and have to be replaced. If you do not want to take it apart you can try to wash it out and use a wax based lube like white lightning, you can get it at most bicycle shops.good luck

I'm surprised you like the Y-Start. I have one, it's one of the worst folders I've handled in a while. Bad handle and multiple mechanical problems.

I've just watched your video. Maybe I was lucky (or you were unlucky) when I bought this folder because mine came mechanically flawless (zero bladeplay, solid clip). The only thing that bothers me is the proturding liners which make the handle uncomfortable for bigger cutting tasks.

Hmm.....Probably half the folders on the market have nylon washers.

Sentry Solutions doesn't say what's in Tuf-Glide, except that it is combustible and harmful if swallowed.

Of course, the 738 had the sticky problem before it was lubed, which is why I lubed it in the first place.

I'm just now getting into these and am wondering,I have a Benchmade 553sbk and I hate the hollow handles. Is there a Chinese axis lock that I could transfer the Benchmade blade into ?

Each blade - handle - lock is unique from the factory. Unless the copy is exact design (from the CNC), there's no way you can swap them.

Even same model if same brand might not be swappable (Endura comes to mind, some mentioned during final assembly it's hand fitted).

I'm looking for a longer blade (effective edge) than k631 or EL01. Anyone can suggest? Spyderco Resilience might be the one. Cold Steel Hold Out II, Voyager Large (XL is sure thing, not sure about L). Unfortunately EL08 is not longer than EL01 in this criteria :(. 9Cr will be a plus as well.

If you can share comparison pics, much appreciated!

CS Voyager Large Vaquero (29TLV)? The "s-curve" blade shape gives plenty of cutting power and the Tri-Ad lock sounds promising too.

Vortex, thanks! Any side by side pics?

Not really liking recurve actually :(, and the application in mind is slicing bread/sandwich. I found k631 too short while EL01 too thick. I guess CS XL it is ... ? Will Resilience be sufficient?

Thanks! No direct comparison to what I have but useful nevertheless :) with Endura there.

I think Endura is similar to Cara2, thus k631 as well?

The blade length of the Endura is almost equal to the K631 although its handle is 4-5 mm longer.

It seems CS XL is the one fits.

Now wondering whether to get tanto (thicker blade profile overall) or clip point .. also ponderig between need and want ;)

Hello guys:)

It's been a while since i've done somewhat of a review on these fine blades so the times has come for another:)
Well, not really a review but mostly a first impressions post about a new and amazing EDC knife!
The Enlan M025!

It's been a while since i've been so excited by an inexpensive knife like this but the expectations were fullfilled!
Since i got my Insingo, wharncliffe blades have been my latest obsession so when i saw this one i had to have it:D

However it has a bit of belly wich is perfect;)

The blade is made out of 8cr13mov and, as expected, razor sharp.
It has somewhat of a small choil that allows you to choke up on the blade giving you a very controled grip for more detailed work.

Weighing 84g = 2.9oz it carries in the pocket without you even noticing and the slim design is also a plus.
The flow through construction helps to make it lightweight even though is has full metal liners.

The knife's a linerlock with very solid lockup with no bladeplay whatsoever in any direction and perfectely centered!
I love how these brands get this right!

The G-10 is very nice also!
I don't know if it is the best or worst G-10 out there but i like it:)
It resembles the one on the enlan el-01.
The knife has great blade retention and you can't shake it open no matter how hard you try it wich brings us to another cool feature, it flies open wicked fast when flicked with the thumb;)

The only two things i don't like about it is the fact that it only has one thumbstud for right hand only and no jimping.
The instalment of the thumbstud and pocket clip on the right side may prevent lefties from buying it!
Yes, the pocket clip is for right carry and tip down only!
The pocket clip issue isn't a negative for me at all because i always take them out and drop the knife into the pocket, however i may see this being a negative for some of you.

I realise i didn't mention the specs besides it's weight so i took a few comparison pics of the M025 side by side to another Sanrenmu great, the 710:)

Oh, blade thickness is also the same, it seems!

In conclusion, this is the smallest Enlan i ever owned but it has the same strong feel in the hand as it's bigger brothers.
A small, inexpensive but very capable knife for my EDC rotation wich i definetely recommend.
I'm still a fan:D

Thanks for looking:)

Mantzao,

Thanks for the photos and review and for spreading the word about this excellent pocket-size folder. At the moment, it's my favorite Chinese import.

I mentioned in post Nos. 457 and 459 how much I like this combination wharncliffe / drop point shape. I've not seen that shape before, except on some impossible to get Klotzlis. And, yes, I'm also an Insingo fan.

Since those posts, I've been searching without success for an upscale version comparable to the Enlan M205. Please let me know if you find one.

Meanwhile, the Enlan is a very fine design and a bargain.

Nice review!
Currently the M025 is my office edc folder so I can understand your enthusiasm.
One small correction: the thumb stud can be reversed easily for lefties too.

i'm on the lookout for one like this but they're hard to find, specially the plain blade with s30v version!
around the 3 min mark you can see the blade.

thanks for the compliment and for correcting me vortex:)
seeing the other warncliffe you show in the pic makes me wonder if this one was the right pick:D

My M08 was perfectly centered, rock-solid with absolutely zero play in any direction, even with a lot of force. Slapped some o-rings onto the studs and gave it to my gf.

any opinions on the serrated Enlan EL01? either the EL01A(satin) or the EL01BH(black)?

also looking at the Ganzo 710, though its a tad pricier.

(i have already got just about one of every enlan(including several plain edge EL01's) and a lot of SRM's)
