I'm very interested in all these designs and their own rather than cheaper versions of the actual products, wish they weren't, look nice.

People in this thread like Chinese brands that deliver their own quality products such as Sanrenmu, Enlan and Bee. We (or at least, I) are (am) not really amused with direct copies of other knives, and definitely not approve of it.

Indicatively, blatant copy or worse, faking brand says the company won't care about quality of the product.

At least SRM & Enlan usually come up with their design, even if inspired by other brand. Navy is a bit more a copy or closly copying, which is why their QC is not as tight as the other two.

Jacky from exduct might be able to clarify. Once he stated many other would copy & pirate SRM & Enlan brand for these two are getting well known.

For time being, I'd stick with models available via Exduct to be safe.

Well, couldn't resist, only 10 clams with shipping. Seller had a Inron 801 I wanted to try anyway.

I'll report when I get it, compare to regular SRM 710. At worst I guess I'll have an ironic fake; if so, seems almost like spending $1.50 to counterfeit a $1 bill.

edit: I see the AliExpress place has these also, whatever that says. Shows Enlan box too.

I don't have Byrd, but suspected Navy builds them. Were you referring to Taiwan / US Spyderco or the Tenacious family that're sub 40 and made in China?

It's rather off topic here, but if Tenacious family is build by SRM/Enlan while Byrd by Navy, that will partially explain the differences in quality.

I found that the Resilience is built better than even EL01 (which as liner lock, currently the top), and further more than Navy k631.

I am not sure who builds what but I bought the byrd cara cara 2 to try out the blade shape and the ffg at a low price . I really liked the blade shape but didn't think much of the plastic/frn handle scales, I will say the cara cara is light and would work for light duty cutting.I went on to buy the spyderco resilience. the first thing I noticed was it is F'in' HUGE! second was how nice the FF was and the smoothness.so for not that much more money you get a far better knife .
sorry now that I reread your post I realize this is not answering anything but hell I already typed all of this so you guys are going to read it damn it!

and yes my spyderco is made in China and so is the byrd

And yes, the F&F of Resilience is one or more notches above.

there.i just got an older model 723, its not bad too. Does anyone know if the carbon fiber version is indeed CF or baked on paint.

Any reviews on the srm h02?

It's definitely not paint. It's a very thin slice of what looks like CF or a good imitation.

As an aside: My 723 is months old and I've tried cleaning and lubing to keep the lock from sticking. Latest is Nano Oil, which seems like a winner. Must have spent close to $90 testing various lubricants to try to fix one $10 imported folder.

Continuing with my favourite knives for EDC

Navy K615, Navy K631 and Ganzo G704

I did the zip ties modification on my Navy knives. Its awsome how it helps to a fastere deployment ... Very handy chap and useful modification.

I very pleesed with those knives, they are excelent. Side by side to mayor brands like Spyderco or Benchmade.
The steel can be sharpen very easily, and its holds very nice for a EDC knife.

thanks. does yours have a liner between the slabs of cf? I use an ultrasonic cleaner for the knives, sometimes open and close in a basin of water. I am still using silicone oil. Nano oil, sounds good!

Recently got the srm 1602 g, I like the blade shape. Seems like it would be great for the kitchen and bait cutting.

My 723 has a blue liner. Is this different from current model?

Update: pleased to report -- still no sticking since Nano.

Re the SRM 1602: I have the 702. Appears to be the same wharnie but with a clip and the thumb stud is gold color. Perfect for gifting for letter-opening, etc.

You're Welcome! Im very happy with this knives. They perform excelent for a modic price.
The only thing i don't like about the 440C steel, is that if you leave the blade wet or in a high humidity enviroment it tends to rust. Specially the liners.
If you handle to sharp the edge and polish with fine stones, getting to stropping, it can be razor sharp.

Great knives! I've got on the way: Enlan EL-01 and a Ganzo G710. Those look like very nice knives

Just to note the 440C likely is 9Cr13MoV.

And yes, they tend to rust. Polish them and it'll be fine.

Also, Navy & Ganzo are not Sanrenmu AFAIK.

The angle and lighting makes it look nicer than real life!

The tip has been ground twice (chipped when dropped, I keep it thin). With the right angle, it will show the flat near spine has some scratches from wave mod attempt using diamond file, and some part of the hollow grind has scratches from sharpening.

The knife to its right is Enlan EL02, studless and waved.

My EDC nowadays:

I don't know what Spyderco does, but the Resilience outcut all my other 8Cr13MoV!

It can be seen that the edge is original with some stropping, compared to reprofiled of the other two.

So, I just got into Knives 2 weeks ago. For my first foray into "higher" end knives, I got 2 8cr knives and a 440c, the EL-01, Ganzo 704 and a SRM 710.
Well, I have an addictive personality and a streak of lazyness as well as a pursuit of arbitrary standards of coolness. In this case, mirror polished. This led me to getting a work sharp and 40 micro-mesh belts.

Well here is the result.

EL-01
Blade is polished by sandpaper from 400 grit to 800 grit to 1000 grit to 1500 grit to 2000 grit and then finished with Mother's mag polish.

Work sharp with progressively finer belts. Probably 10 in all.

Same sharpening as the EL-01
