Yeah, pocket clips made from name tag yo yo clips, so it's deeper than standard. It does't grip as strong, more of a 'hook' to keep the knife vertical in pocket.

Very nice polish blade! I think that for a EDC blade 440C is okey, because you can sharpen it once a week or so. In my case, stropping the edge once a week (on sundays generally) is enough to keep every single knive razor edge.
When is possible and the grinding is even from factory i tend to leave the profile as it comes, and work with the factory angles.
Every day it passes and i use this knives more, i love them more and more

Greetings from Argentina

My First attempt at making "Textured" scales for my Sanrenmu 710... I love this little blade!

thanks Chris ,what is a name tag yoyo clip? I like the simplistic look and the deep ride of your clips

I'm pretty sure hes talking about the clips from these retractable lanyard things:

Thanks. Yes, it is.
Cut notches at the side using round file to fit the screw position (2 screws). Used as it is, not tight at all, because there's gap between the clip & handle so it function more as 'hanger'. If tight pressure to clothing required, it has to be bent a bit more.

Uh Oh,
2 boxes just showed up today.

My first Elans .. Holy crap! Quality looks great at first look.
Hope to have time to play and carry and pic and report.

Grabbed mainly due to this thread (I have a few SRMs and Bee from a few years ago but these, besides the K602s, from this thread ... the 602s are animals!):

Sp-K602 (x2) - One recurve I see chips on initial inspection, gonna reprofile anyway. Huge, solid, great camper.
SP-710 (x2, have 1, just like them for the car/truck/bags)
K-610 - Holy copy! But a tank, reminds me of my Manix's.
EL01 - For me, a great EDC, I like them big. Very confidant feel to it.
EL08 ... BEAST! Great first impression and really slick looking in person.
EL04 - Nice, a step up from the BEE line, solid
738 - cute small carry, wish there was real CF exposed, but a pretty knife none the less.

First impression VERY impressive for $120 with shipping. The Elans ... big wow for the money.

Will report and pic once I'm able.

Damn Bishop thats alot of knives in one order! looks like you forgot to get a el-02 (one of my faves)
thanks jskit and chris for the info and pic

I screwed up and didn't buy enough in one round.
The next day said I want to see this, this and this.

The Elans are blowing me away!

I'm gonna do another order in a while, to snatch up some that are not there now, and try some gonzos.
The EL-02 is on the list as well as a few others.

With the China shipping back in play, its go time.

Oh the wife's eyes rolled :) ... there is no explaining it .. even if you put a $200 dollar knife next to a $13 and say "but just look!" ... dead eyes. Even if its a writeoff ... :(

Somewhere there is an EL-05 on the way from the e site. The snub fatty peeked my interest.

I gotta get the 2 tools so will so will review this thread again for 1 more order of missing knives I've seen but are out right now.
I also think I want a backup to the 08 before it disappears or goes up in price. And the Ganzos I haven't felt.
.... eying the 4 pack ......

Bishop:

I gotta say your enthusiasm is admirable, but I've honestly not found the Navy and Ganzo knives to be a good deal - the fit and finish is quite inferior to the Enlan, which in turn, tend to be a little worse than SRM - varies from model to model. The main issue I've found is the very soft steel they use on the copy knives like the Navy and Ganzo. The only Navy knife I rather like is the k607 which is a copy of the Spyderco Lil' Temp (which I owned, and is a far superior product if you can find it).
Get the original design knives, and you won't be sorry. The SRM 704, 707, 710, LB763 (aluminum handles vs G-10) are my choices for EDC. The 681 is a decent VERY small and slim knife if that's your thing.

The 785 and 728 are nice knives for the slightly more traditional style knife...

Finally, the best big knife they make is the Enlan EL-02 in G-10 though the steel is a touch soft in my experience - the 939 fares better but has a bit less grip and is heavier (full SS framelock vs an Axis-lock). Another is the EL-08. However, the Enlan knives tend to be a fair bit more expensive than the SRM for really not enough benefit. I've found sticking to SRM knives (the less gimmicky ones) tends to serve me best.

Trust me Seno, I have more "real" knives than I know what to do with :) I get wacky when on a buying roll.

I look at these in 2 ways:
1: As beaters for where I don't want to take the better ones where they may get lost.
2: As experiments. I'd rather take apart one of these and regrind, reprofile, recurve that on a $150 knife.

For instance, even though I fish salt and have plenty of H1 steel, if a BEE knife ends up in the salt, or lost in the surf, or gutting a fish I won't care. Even if a bit of rust might show, know what I mean.
My rigs have lanyarded H1s, but I'm not always wearing the bat belt :)
Kinda like buying Cold Steel 2nds, dirty jobs.

I agree the Navy knives are a bit low on QC and other issues, but a good place to play if you now what I mean. Like the K602 that I see chipped in the recurve. Great opportunity to play IMHO without the worry of screwing up an expensive blade.
Now, if it was the real deal, I'd be hesitant to play some ... or carry now that they are discontinued I think.

I think the Navy and BEE are on the low end, the Enlans ... I need to take them apart yet to see what they are made of but am happy with the build so far.

Just ordered the pivot tools for them, both, and actually was impressed with the EL-01 and the EL-08 to order another set (hint .. if you order from exduct and order the the knife with the tool, its only $10, small consolation).

The 939 is one of my favs and a perfect example. Placed an order to see how the INRONs stack up, the EL-01 I thought would be great with a stud so saw the INRON, with framelock, added some stuff, got a 939 thrown in.
Now the old one is gonna get a regrind of sorts and loose the sheepsfoot. Something I wanted to do, and for a $7 freebie, I get a chance to play.

Cool, makes sense if you like to like to change up blade geometry to pick one with a softer heat treat.

Yeah, same here, been messing with these beater knives now about a year (started off pretty big and only now buying the budget knives...), currently waiting on the Enlan M025, gotta see if it can replace my 710 or 763.
Let us know about the INRON - been hearing some good things, some bad things about the lock-up and thickness of the lockbar....

I was about to order the Inron hinderer copy but i saw the last Sr Joben YouTube video and i dismissed the purchase. Seems that the locking is not good. I don't like unsafe knives.
Besides that I don't like much the lack of G10 scales on both sides of the grip.

Im looking with affection the EL02 with g10 and stonewashed blade :-)

Thanks for that info.

You might check out the Enlan Bee L02. It's an under 3-inch liner lock with G10 scales, double studs and good f&f. I like it a lot.

I usually get two of the imports and one is usually good.
In this case, both of my L02s are excellent.
