Eventually the truth bubbles to the top when it comes to these types of things and the best way for that to happen is an open discussion.

P.S. At times in my life and for rare and short periods, gold has been an excellent investment. :D.

Spark your missing the point. Your actions and this post did not hurt Strider. Strider is doing fine! I however have lost value in my collection thanks to your thread,, and this one and others like it here on BF. Remember its pointless because Strider has not been injured and will not be injured by these threads. Just people like me. YOU MISSED YOUR TARGET and hit me.

I am asking you politely to put a end to it. You have made your point about Strider. Its only hurting knife buyers and sellers at this point.

I am asking for you to to protect my interests as a paying customer of yours. I am also a paying customer of Strider and they take care of me. If those scoundrels can rise to the occasion it should be easy for you.

Also should I be insulted about your assertion that Strider fooled me into thinking the knives were worth more? Because all this time I thought I got that impression from looking at what they were actually selling for prior to the BF revelations?

Respectfully, no. I don't respond we to veiled threats and extortion.

Furthermore, Strider burned up all their good credit with me when they decided to lie about my character and business practices.

So, in summation, it's not my job to protect the value of your "investments". It's not my job to make sure that nothing bad comes out about Strider Knives, especially when they & their cohorts are all too willing to throw anyone and everyone under the bus at the first opportunity. And stifling discussion on topics isn't protecting anyone's best interests. After all, if you'd known better, your "investments" wouldn't be "plummeting" in value.

Past that, I have no role in this particular discussion, so I'll thank you kindly to leave me out of it.

Strider the company makes a very fine folder yes. The SnG is one of my favorite designs in a frame lock. Everything about it makes it a very good user daily beater folder. The S30V blade in a flat grind, and the variety of blade shapes makes it that much more appealing. The choil for choking up better on the blade as well as the added safety it provides makes it very hard to accidentally close the blade on your fingers. The thickness of the frame, the fact that it is a frame lock for added reliability and the tiger stripe option all add to this package.

The Hinderer lock stabalizer is a big plus as well and the oversized hardware as well as the ample handle in conjunction with a design making it easy to use with gloved hands all comes together to make one of the better frame locks being offered in productions.

Truthfully the knives they make didn't need a false picture or any deception about the background of the makers to move and be appreciated in the military market place or the law enforcment divisions using them. The knives stand on their own merits.

After supporting strider for a good while, especially against coldsteal, now that I've owned a couple striders, and made my opinion on thier "history", I've personally decieded I wont give them my $ again. I am not trying to get anything going, but thier folders are over-rated, and under-produced. I now personally put them on the same level as coldsteal. Chris reeve, spyderco, benchmade, and a few others all make fine knives without all the "bs". My thought has become @#$% these other chumps. Strider fans are very supportive, mainly due to people downing thier favorite brand; but the people downing strider aren't always stupid or liars. If you got one that you like and it works good, good for you. But there are others that haven't had your experience. -And then there is the "history" issue. In the end, we'll all buy what we want.
 
Personally, I think there is a bigger picture here, than whether they make good knifes or not. The issue was outlined by Gene Martin:

Judging from similar cases, most notably the case of the Dean of Admissions at MIT who forged her entire academic credentials (big headline new this summer), this is most likely just the beginning of it all. Fraud is punishable by law for a reason and I don't see how it can be talked away with a company making a good product. Especially not when the fraud endangers other peoples lives. Personally, I think this is justifying a position in the hall of shame.

And for those, who are afraid that their "assets" are losing value: If they indeed lose value (which is pretty certain) as a result of all of this, then the value was obviously tied to the false claims of the owner of the company and did not stand solely on the merit of the product, which in turn proves that the fraudulent behavior did indeed result in a direct personal financial gain of the owners of the company and they are the only ones responsible for any devaluation. I think it is well past time, that the anger of the Strider owners is finally being directed against the source of the problem: The company that lied to them.

i dont believe your striders are de-valued as a result of this or any other thread.

as long as i have been a member here, there has been a limited market for striders on the exchange. they still sell, but not as quickly as other makers products.

on other (ahem) exchanges, striders seem to sell rather well at or near retail.

i wouldnt be concerned.

Geeze this has been done over and over and over again please make it stop! If all we ever did was buy from law abiding, non dangerous, non lying, product manufacturers we'd all have to live and survive off of Twinkies!

Maybe you should just shut up and try to focus on the facts. It might help you avoid the "megaconfussion".
