There were issues discussed I WILL NOT elaborate. I'm NOT going to be CRYPTIC, ONLY factual at this point.


My perception WAS correct. There were some issues in the PAST that created this perception and that has been worked out and rectified.


Additionally, I have been assured and satisfied that SOCNET will be a VALID/VIABLE PROFESSIONAL source and content for the future.

Please see Sharky's reply for undeniable proof when institutions with actual investigative power start digging from the right sources. In my opinion, there is a difference between the (again, in my opinion) incomplete information present in this thread and Sharky's example. And that is what I have been saying all along.

Myself, as an active duty soldier, I don't care enough to give a hoot if all this is some fake/poser stuff said in those horridly corrupted internet websites. If something along the lines of Sharky's case comes up then it's a different story.

I don't see as big a difference between the two as you apparently do. Look again at the documents posted on POW. "Data Systems Tech" look again at the quotes by Mick himself and how one says one thing and one another. I don't see how anyone cannot notice.

I would think a guy with Dwyer's impressive kill count and impressive training would be a well known to these guys. But in his defense I have no clue how the Military Spec-OP world operates and who knows what, etc. In my world, a Sniper is someone who steals my high bid on E-bay for a pocket knife!!

Second that!:thumbup: Actually you would think at least a couple of guys that served with him and knew him personally from the service would be members of his forum, buyers of his knives and supporters saying yeah, I served with him and I know what he did but thats not what we get. Even that would be better than what we have seen though. At least then someone that was actually stationed with him in the same unit or platoon or whatever it was called could offer something more substantial. I mean think about this. I was a dental tech. in the service and guys I was serving with that also liked knives have found me and I'm not anywhere near as exposed or 'celebrity' to the public like both these guys are. Also, I think being Marines its even more likely that some of the guys he served with would like knives too.

Still. I'm not holding my breath that the 'big guns' are going to be able to do much though because its all up to what Duane wants to do or doesn't want to do. I hope I'm wrong because it would be very nice to know once and for all with no BS or third party hearsay.

Out of the two I know which one I will believe. So I think I will sit tight and see which way the axe falls. I do think the guys at SOCNET have the resources to bring this to a conclusion pretty quickly.

I also find you newfound respect for SOCNET amusing though. You have known they were corrupt since 01 but a simple email could have cleared all that up. How many people have you told that to in the last 7 years? Are you going to go back and apologize for your blanket statements that were based on faulty perception? What made for better drama, an email to clean up the facts or telling people that you were in the know?

It matters to those involved and no one who was involved in it contacted POWnet, it was a 3rd party trying to act like he was connected. When we have the FBI lined up to investigate this guy we really don’t need someone else rechecking our work thank you.

Have you tried to run any type of investigation on Dwyer? If you have experience with this sort of thing can you use your resources to get to the bottom of this? Have you posted any positive findings you've made and I just missed it?

No I haven’t. We have a timeline of Rangers from the late 60s to now. That we can deal with. SOCNET has way more resources for this that we ever do and to most are going to be a neutral third party. It seems this has now got the attention of the Scout Sniper community and they are going to deal with it.

I am glad that I live a simple life and to me being a POSER is lying during deer season and claiming the 87 pound spike horn I shot was a 14 point 285 pound beast and the fish I caught was that big!!!
Over 1300 posts on over 30 pages, BFC being read by folks all over the place whose experience with knives is cutting a steak and think S30V is a Volvo!! They are here because of their interest in this thread and this thread only. I have seen some names lurking here that have not been here in a long long time, there's a world of interest on the outcome; this is a big freaking deal!!!

I have zero military experience so bear with me and help me thru a couple of questions; Is there/are there different Snipers in the USMC? Are there Snipers, Scout Snipers, other types of Snipers so that one group may not know the other? And of course the big question on my mind, if someone had the level of training Dwyer says he had and if someone had an "impressive kill count" wouldn't it be considered suspicious that no one in the USMC Sniper world know the guy?

And to any of the real deals who have taken an interest here; if you were being called a fake, a phony, a scammer and a Poser at this level (probably more than 75,000 have peaked at this) would you remain silent and ask your Buds to do the same? Would your Buds suggest and "coach" you to stay silent and would you truly listen?
