I have MORE BACKGORUND than yourself related SPECIFICALLY to this TOPIC. IN my opinion it is RELEVANT.

You or anyone here or on the PLANET is NOT going to convince me or change that reality.

I have LIVED it YOU have not.

Just as YOU have lived your reality and I have not, I'm EQUALLY NOT qualified to make a statement regarding yourself and your VETTINGS, libelous minions, detractors, experiences etc..

I have been CRITICISED, my HONESTY and DIGNITY and EVEN SANITY (I'm 5150 about SKI) have been questioned MANY times by those directly and indirectly involved on this forum and in the community by LIBELOUS, slanderous third party comments etc.

Yup. You can label the ideas of others, and others can label your ideas, and everyone who chooses to follow the discussion can make up their own minds what they think. That's what an open forum is all about.

Of course you can find forums on the net where you and people who agree with you are the only ones who are allowed to do any labeling, and you can find forums where only the people you disagree with post, and they won't let you join in. And if you choose you can come here....

If anyone isn't participating in this discussion it's by his own choice. Duane Dwyer is a member and anybody from pownetwork.org is welcome to join too.

You can't go into a theater and yell fire because YOU think that the theater is showing films you feel were marketed dishonestly. But apparently at bladeforums one can post ad nauseum and try to destroy a person's livelyhood.

BF is ( for now ) the single largest knife forum on the internet but stands apart as being the only knife forum where one can publicly try to destroy another human being because one can.

Well, no, actually. TGB&U is the forum where if someone has something to say about your business dealings you can answer him back and refute what he says. That isn't true in some other places on the net, and that applies as much to places where people are trying to publicly destroy people who have exposed facts about Duane Dwyer as to other places where facts are being exposed. This is the forum where there can be a dialogue.

All this thread has served to do is create and foster more bad blood more discord and more personal attacks in it's self fullfilling nature.

I don't think that's all this thread has done, though there certainly has been some of that. I think some facts have also come out here. That's the way it usually works here in TGB&U; if you sort through it all you'll find some facts.

I suspected as much. I doubted very much that the kind of men who were/are looking into this would be at all impressed with the response about lawyers and litigation. While I never have and never will be one, I have trouble believing that this is the way a scout sniper would respond to a request for clarification from his fellows.


The info from them, and any release from the SSA, should prove to be most interesting once it appears.

I received my January-February copy of: The Military Order of the Purple Heart magazine today and while going through the magazine, I came across an ad that made me laugh.

At least I can finally laugh at the thread again. I got sucked into it and have no real place.

Can I ask one more question though? No need to actually respond (you can email if you want, but I am really hoping this will be my last response in this thread. I am considering starting a 12 step group just for this issue)

If we subscribe to a redemption theology, what is required by public opinion to let the SK guys go about their business. Helping widows in distress? Supporting troops? Closing shop?


I know, there is more than one question mark, but they are potential answers to the question.

Also, I understand for pennance to be assigned, there must be repentance. Lets assume that piece so we can get to a solution step.

There is a whole spectrum of feeling:

Some feel some crimes are so heinous they would never forgive them, at least not so far as to choose to do business with the person who committed them, even years later.

Some would be willing to forgive the past if he weren't lying about it now.

Some would be willing to forgive the lying if he would admit it and stop.

Some would be willing to forgive the lying if he would just stop, and wouldn't even require him to admit he'd lied. (That group is subdivided according to how long they feel he would have to go without lying about his past before they would feel he has stopped doing it. Is 15 minutes enough? If he's gone 15 minutes without lying about his past can we say it's all in the past and should be forgotten? No? How about a month? If he goes a month without posting any lies on the net that you happened to find, does that mean it's all in the past and should be forgotten?)

Some don't have any interest in what he did in the past or what lies he may tell about it now -- they feel that is irrelevant to their knife-buying choices.

Some just attack the messengers every time it comes up and never say how they feel about it. Maybe they've been too busy attacking the messengers to think about the message....

If you go with redemption theology, first comes repentence, not just I'm sorry but life changing sorry. Then the request for forgiveness based on confession if sin. Then follows forgiveness.

If the conduct doesn't change, there is no repentence and therefore no forgiveness.

To my credit, I did acknowledge that in my post. I said, lets assume repentence so we can move into solution focused therapy.

I know as a non combat veteran, I need to be soothed about this whole affair.

In the Bible the word redeemed means bought with a price. It means that persons no longer live for themselves but they live for God. It is a full surrender. Christ paid the price for their sin and purchased them.

It is dealing with forgiveness between man and God.

When it comes to forgiveness between man and man. I am quite sure Jesus said in order for us to be forgiven we have to forgive. We are to forgive those that trespass against us. Matthew 18:21-22 Forgive 70 times 7. That is a lot of forgiveness.

It is impossible for a christian to show other people the forgiveness of God if a christian is unwilling to forgive.
