There's plenty of merit to the hate. To me, they're big, ugly, overpriced hunks of junk and they have terrible geometry compared to most knives out there. Meritorious in the extreme! If you insist on being wrong, that's okay, too. ;)

this was actually all stated at the same time in the Strider section of the green forum. Strider knives is in fact DONE. The designs will live on through Mick strider customs in a classic line.
 
We can read popsickle. Everything you just wrote was already posted in this thread. Some how despite strider knives being no more, they continue to be made and sold exactly the same before the announcement.

Do a search on bluelinegear, does it say classic line anywhere when you click on a strider knife?

I just checked Blue line and didn't see any folders. Even if there had been, it could be old stock or stock picked up from Blade(very recent). They are not going to destroy old stock and it isn't shocking they would capitalize on the end(farewell tour). If after awhile when it becomes obvious that new stock is still being produced under the Strider name, I would be in full agreement that that wasn't what they said was going to happen.
Of course business decisions can change, but it certainly sounded like they were firm on this plan.
Time will tell
 
Wow, I just read that thread from 2007... and Mick himself, under oath and on the record, admitted that he was never a Ranger, SOCOM, etc... in case you don't feel like looking this is from the judgement that he lost:

"Mick Strider hereby acknowledges that he has never been deployed as a U.S. Army Ranger. Strider also acknowledges that he has never served in or participated with SOCOM (Special Operations Command). Strider also acknowledges that he has never had any combat experience with any branch of the U.S. Military or U.S.Government Agencies, nor has he participated in any "Black Ops". Strider served in 2/75, but never graduated Ranger School. Strider lost all rank, was barred from re-enlistment and was discharged from the Military as a Private."

There was also a stipulation that he never make these lies again and to refute them if they come up. I'm guessing he's done neither from what is going on now.

Now I am very disappointed that Protech offers a collab and I plan on emailing them to let them know that I do not like their association with a known liar and felon.

Dear lord, I knew vaguely that his service was disputed and some here have animosity towards Strider but had no idea of the documented extent of it.

I do believe in a sense that is true but, they are just opening a new facility with the same machines and same crew and making/selling the same knives but through MSC. That is the same. They will even have the same strider marks (according to the pics on MSC) so there is no difference maybe on paper and DD might now be out.

I wish I had known that AFTER picking up some. They are beautiful pieces but let's try to focus on the art and not the artist...

I get that and yes I will keep using my SnG and my assorted fixed blades, but will not be purchasing any more pieces of "art". I know the knives arent for everyone but I have loved my SnG and used it as an EDC piece for awhile now. But there is a bigger issue here. To purchase from this man is un-American. You dont choose to lie about your service to make money, you dont impersonate someone to personal gain. Thousands of men have served honorably and done great things for this country and are now homeless and living in cardboard. There is probably a homeless guy out there who could lay claim to everything Mick has but the difference is this homeless guy actually did it. It is just plain dishonorable and it seems like he hasnt changed so no more of my money will go to strider. I dont like being lied to. I dont support other businesses because of what they stand for (ie. starbucks) so I wont be supporting strider anymore.
 
Oh I wanted to add there are some new up and coming knife makers that are really great guys (from what I have seen so far) Tactical Pterodactyl Knives (Frankie) and Hoback Knives. Great Stuff. Probably just as "FAST" as strider :)
 
I still carry my old SMF-gg pretty frequently but M. Strider won't be getting any more of my money especially not for any $ 3,000 piece of fugly damascus or any collaborations with the other shady manufacturer in the industry microtech.
 
Apparently the production knives will continue. Possibly they will be made under a different name but will be the same knives.

Damn that Medford deployment 187 is actually lookin pretty nice.

It looks as if nothing at all will change. Name, makers marks, people making them, machines that make them, maybe the website but probably not. ONE BIG HOAX
