Edit: Uh, that's my first post here, sorry for being so blunt. I am German, member of several knife forums (that's why I overlooked that to this particular one I was new), knifewise I am a kitchen man, but I stumbled into Chad's SF because of the furor he was generating over here across the water in the forums, got the AUS8 version lately, and not at least because of the discussion here, just yesterday ordered a first run in addition.

Alohallo jag13,

Great to see you! Well, I got good critique from great people.;)

As for becoming a millionaire? No...unless for some reason, the movie BLADE IV is about a Corrections Officer in Hawaii!:D

God bless and take care:thumbup:

As for becoming a millionaire?

Easy. Go to your local Goldman Sachs or whomever you have in Hawaii (you have to work top-down, only the best will do) and ask them to issue and list a buy option on the first production run SF at a striking price of whatever you want. And then you ask them to issue a certificate on this very option for better leverage, and of this you buy whatever your petty cash allows. As the price of the 1st run is guaranteed to rise, you will become a millionaire. I will be second in the queue for these certificates and administer the price rise by exercising one of those call options now and then, which leads to the seller scrambling to get one of those few SFs for delivery to me at any market price. For me that is a win-win game because the loss on the exercise is offset many times by the rise in value of my certificates. And then the two of us will have a nice millionaire party in Hawaii.
Michael :)

I just got two of Chad's Subcoms...must be the last of the first run as it isn't marked Aus-8 like in the German photo. Oh well, guess I'll have to buy another one or two when the upgraded steel is avail.

I can't add anything to the millions of reviews already mentioned, except I'm a right handed person and I can easily open and close this little biscuit with my left hand.

Aloha zen',

Bro, you already know what an honor it is to know that ya picked up a few SF's!

Mahalo much, and God bless:)

Alright, I have been carrying both of my BO589's for
about 6 months. Saying I am hard on a knife is like saying
steel rusts in Hawaii. Anyway, I thought it about time I wrote
something on it. A couple cavaets first. I work for Boker, obviously,
and am a little biased towards this knife, and two, my major area
of concentration in the knife world in SD/Tactical applications, so that is
the mind I brought into the history of the SC folder.

Sometime in the middle of 2004, we received some protos from Chad in the
office, and my boss asked me to take a look at them. I liked them all, but
the SubCom really stood out.
In the process of going through them, I loved the SC folder more and more.
We managed to get it off the "drawing board", and into the production side, and the waiting began.

I have carried one since we got the first pre-pro models in, and love it.
The blade shape is excellent for a small, hideout slasher, and is small enough to go anywhere. It is non-threatening in appearance, and totally legal in most jurisdictions.
The steel outperforms any 420 I have had before, and everyone I show it to
ends up buying one.
I liked it so much, I sent them out to some of the best people in the knife world to get their opinions. Everyones feedback was excellent.
To this day, I carry one everywhere I go, usually two, and considering how picky I am, that says a lot.
In the final analysis, Chad has designed a knife that can handle any job I've put to it thus far. It's comfortable, strong, and the shape maximizes it's cutting ability.
Thanks, TJT

TJT: I know just what your talking about, I have an extensive bladed weapons collection...could just about carry any knife I want....from custom folders, custom switchblades, custom tactical sheath knives etc, but it is the Subcom that finds it's way into my pockets as one of my edc knives...the knife is just that good!!!!!....Doc:D

Mahalo much TJT and Zip!

Thanks for everything knifebrothers...now Terry, convince the "higher ups" to make one in X15!!!:)

God bless and take care:thumbup:

Hi,

I bought two Gen 1 SUBCOM folders last week on the strength of a picture and a short blurb on the equipped to survive website mainly because this knife has what I have been wanting for a very long time. I have been waiting and waiting for a knife like this to come around. I have been using a Spyderco DoDo prior to the SUBCOM but now it sits in my knifekit as a back-up user. I will say that no knife I have owned thus far has attracted so much attention. My fellow cooks keep asking to borrow it, my best friend steals it so she can flick open/closed while watching t.v. and I think my mother is planning on "forgetting to give it back."

As for myself, I love the thing. It is small enough to be accessible to regular people but functional enough to be my new EDC. It feels good in my hand, locks up solid, can be made to be very sharp very quickly and keeps a respectable edge.

As soon as the upgrades are more widely available I plan to purchase two of the AUS-8 models.

Chad, Thanks for the excellent tool and congratulations on a solid design.

Aloha spoonrobot,

Wow, thanks for your kind words regarding the Gen1 SF. The 420J2 IS pretty amazing for "420". I too am expecting the AUS8 version to arrive...not so much am I looking forward to the "new" steel, but moreso for the longer clip!;)

Mahalo much for your support, and I am very happy that you appreciate the SF design! OBTW, thanks also for taking the time to post about it here!

God bless and take care:thumbup:

Hi all
i try to do some pimping to my SF Gen2, startet with the bladefinish
(not ready, still at work) and had to remove the studs.
Thought i share the pics of the knife without the studs with you.
Opening works ok with the hole.

Aloha bigbore.45,

Wow...I am glad that you are doing a mod! When I first saw the pics of your SF, I thought, "How the heck did the stud fall off and what's up with the blade?!!"

Thankfully, all is good. Please keep us posted with your mod, I am interested in the blade's finish.

Hmmmmmm, can you imagine of this SF had a certain trademarked RoundHole?:p

God bless and thanks for your support:thumbup:
