Wicked edge..the work sharp blade grinder isn't getting em that shiny lolNice job Bobby! Very even mirrored edge! Was that done on your new WEPS or the work sharp?

My new arms should arrive today..looking forward to being able to dial it in a lil easier.
Here's a blade grinder edge for comparison.
Yea in person the one has more clarity in the polish over the belt polish.. Also the slight convex created distorts the reflection a lil so that effects it a lil..Dude... it may just be the pic size but I can't tell a difference in edge quality from the pic, I'm sure you can up close though!! Great job![emoji106][emoji14]

This one was a beast... Half Life Knives Reaper. It is rare I mirror one on my belt sander, but this one was done by belts. Then I microbeveled and finished up on the Wicked Edge

These were reprofiled to 15 dps and all done on the Wicked Edge:

Those are beautiful edges as normal from you...what micron do you go down to for the flawless finish? I notice I even going thru my grits when I finish on .5 when held in light at the right angle there's still some visible fine scratches remaining.
There are always visible scratches, it just depends on what you mean by "scratches" and how visible... Are you getting true .5um scratches left or are they left from a lower grit stone?
When you truly erase the scratches at each level it will leave you with a very nice finish at 3.5um, which is what the strider pt above was finished at (3um film and 3.5um paste). Under a bright light at the exact right angle you can see the scratches, and even a few stray ones from contamination or something.
Ahh ok then..that makes more sense...seeing the edges you produce in pix they appear flawless lol.. Yea I make sure they were gone on each grit... It was the fine scratches and occasional one you mentioned that was irritating me that were still visible when angled the right way under light... Lol I feel better now ha ha
Thank you...great help as usualGlad I could help! [emoji106]
Is there anyone that offers this as a service? How long typically does a nice polish like this last if you edc it?
Thanks,
Josh
They're mainly show off edges lolYeah I can help you out if you pm me 😊 but a mirror polished edge is not my preferred edc edge... It doesn't excel, imho until you get to the sub 15 dps range
