Here's a closeup of a 128,000 grit edge seen at 500x magnification. A 10,000 grit edge at this magnification would look like a freshly plowed field. Using CBN spray and nanocloth strop for the final finish

With it 18/20° isn't your micro not so micro lol..i typically go +4° minimum for my micros otherwise it's quitenoticeable.

Yea I hear what your saying but it still leaves a pretty polish for a few touch ups on a sharpmaker. 18° takes quite a bit of time and removes a lot of metal from the side to begin with, 16° would be worse. Maybe I'll try it someday. If I put my micro at 22° I can't use a sharpmaker at the 40° inclusive setting and I'd have to go all the way down stairs to put it in the WE, lol.
