Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

My September 2022 order for a GSO 5.1 has not shipped, I have no idea when it will be completed. I wish I would have found this thread prior to ordering from Survive! Knives.

I did receive a GSO 5.1 within eight days of ordering recently from the in-stock/available selection, it is a beautiful knife to behold. I hope I never have a warranty issue as I would not want to double-join the waiting club.

The GSO series hidden lanyard hole is well done, but I got to wondering who pioneered this idea after watching videos put out by Carothers Performance Knives? I would sure like to get my hands on one of their CPK field knives.

I am off to go have fun using my Fobos Tier 1 BC (Magnacut) and Demko FREEREIGN (Magnacut) while I continue waiting for my original Survive! GSO 5.1 order, thanks to all who have shared their Survive! Knives experiences both good and bad.
 
If they came onto this forum, and showed they no longer had outstanding orders, and it were in fact true, would that be enough to change the minds on this particular forum?
Not just no, but HELL no. These scumbags have had over a decade to get it right, and they still can't do anything other than siphon up new cash with new preorders, and make promises about how "everything's turning around". :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
What’s this now, about the 55th regurgitation of the same discussion points? It’s almost humorous. First it’s I got mine, so I don’t care; then it’s what if they demonstrate they’ve turned things around; now it’s the moral high ground argument. Either y’all are reading from the same script or you’re the same person. I’m glad you got your knife, I’m glad you think you’re happy with it. That’s no reason for the rest of the world to support this scumbag company and its owners when there are hundreds if not thousands more putting out just as good or better products, as advertised, ON TIME, and who actually appreciate their customers. Anybody else feel like we’re playing whack-a-mole here?

BTW... S!K had apparently more or less abandoned their FB page. No posts in over 45 days and the comments section is overflowing recent complaints from customers.

Why abandon FB you ask? They cannot control the comments. YouTube allows them to heavily moderate the comments. Instagram allows the to trun off comments. FB is much harder to control...

Here are a few examples:

"Can I please get a response from you guys????? I have sent multiple emails with no response. I have waited well over two years and still do not have my knife. This is probably because she seemed very uninterested in talking to me on the phone and she’s not even aware I am trying to change the email address I have on file with you guys. A phone call would be greatly appreciated! My order is # 15158."

"Would appreciate an update on order # 13878 from. 04/2020 please. I will happily accept a 5.1 from the run you are about to ship in place of the 5.1 I pre-ordered 3 years ago, or a refund for the amount of my preorder. Thank you in advance. Survive Knives"

"Why can’t you guys return an email or answer the phone? I understand you’re busy but damn. Some base level customer service would be appreciated."

Ha! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! In short don't order knives from shysters.
 
This year at Blade was great and everyone knows that Survive Knives wasn't there. I did talk to others like those who deal with Magnacut and you guessed it Survive Knives LIED again. When de-carbonation occurs it is because the steel sat around too long. That makes sense since it takes years for Survive Knives to make a blade. Remember in their videos they say they have the steel in stock. I wonder what happened to the 20CV, Delta 3V, normal 3V and Magnacut steel they said they had in stock but are no longer going to use. Now that they changed to the new steel that doesn't have the same issue they say Niagara Stel ect have I wonder what the new excuse will be. Oh a new steel everyone wants and we will upgrade the steel at no cost to you but add years to your wait time till you demand a refund. How in the hell is anyone sending these CROOKS more money. Crowdfunding for this crook should be on the police radar.
 
Also, while we're griping, I have always hated the fact they put an exclamation mark in their name.

Similarly, I'm irritated that it abreviates to "S!K", which looks like "sik" which sounds like "sick", as if they're a bunch of bros in 2008 with their visors flipped upside-down and side ways.
I always abbreviate it “s?K”. As in surfi5ve?Knafs. Analogous to the competence of their business. Bunch of thieving, lying, buttplug asshats.

How they keep rooking people is beyond me.
 
You have personally had experience with the shortcomings of survive knives? If so, what happened in your particular situation?
I ordered a GSO 5.1 in 2016 as many others. I am happy you got your blade before the ones in 2016. If you are happy with your purchase then go enjoy the thing and don't let others trash you decisions. The reason so many won't order from them is because this is a pattern with Survive. They will sell the pre-orders by another name to new customers and put no effort in making the knives on a timely fashion for those that ordered first. They sell the same knife in several different ways and someone always gets done wrong. Today you got your knife but the next time you order there is over a 50% chance you will get done wrong by them. They will lie and say in a few weeks, months, by Christmas, 1 quarter of next year and 5 years later you will get another BS update. They will also change your steel over and over and say that adds to the wait time. They have no intent on making the new knives in this European Steel. They most likely trash talked the US Market so badly they want nothing to do with Survive Knives.
 
Interesting analogy, I can see where you’re coming from. Do you believe survive is intending to operate as a Ponzi scheme? I personally don’t think so considering they have a lot more completed orders than backlogged orders.
The completed orders are refunds not actual shipments of blades. It's vaporware they are selling with a few knives going out to make the appearance of a functioning business.
 
Why don’t you approach S!K at their glorious booth at BLADE in Atlanta and congratulate them for their superior product, superior customer service, and laudable in-house operation? What, they won’t be a proud vendor at the biggest annual show in the American knife industry?
funny you said this I saw an empty booth with their logo on it years ago with the excuse we stayed home to make knives. Then a Shill came on this forum to tell me they would be there next year for sure and you guessed it they weren't and then he stated they were at home making knives and I pointed out his own words where he said they would be at Blade ect...

This new defender of Survive is a Shill. Hey Shill go order several knives and post the date and order number on here and then post the shipping label when you get it .

When I was a kid, we'd go to the midway at the state fair, with all the ring-toss and similar games that cost a dollar a throw to try to win a stuffed animal. I always saw a couple people walking around with the giant grand prize stuffed bears, but I could stand around and watch all day and never see anyone win a bigger prize than the bottom shelf yo-yos and cheap pencil toppers. I guess a couple stuffed bears paid for themselves as advertising.

I sort of hope it's not the end, it's been entertaining (in a frantic rat swimming round a water butt sort of way - awful but hard not to watch)

For those interested. S!K is getting roasted in the comments about 1/4 against the ignorant apologists. But that pinned comment will certainly cause orders to throttle.

 
Careful. If they join forces with the "armchair and Monday morning quarterbacks", the barbarians will be at the gates and who knows what mayhem might be unleashed. :eek:
