Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

I very very much doubt that the knife world will forgive and forget a decade of lies and BS from scumbags. Just thinking out loud here.

30 posts in about 24 hours from a random customer that wanted to post about his experience...
Whenever I have a good experience I do that. I have millions of accounts on different forums across the net talking about how much I enjoy my new loaf of bread or straw hat.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

I knew that was you all over Breaddit and Haberdashernet!

If they came onto this forum, and showed they no longer had outstanding orders, and it were in fact true, would that be enough to change the minds on this particular forum?
They've promised, multiple times, to turn things around, right on this forum. This one is a classic.

If you call them they of course don't answer, but their message states something like "all of their team members are making knives to wrap up the last of their backlog". It has been that way for years. Of course it also asks the caller to leave a message but their mailbox is full. They also don't reply to emails. I wonder why?

I think they'd be more likely to start making knives on the moon than clear their backorders.

Ok fair enough, but do you apply that principle to every facet of your life and purchases? How many things do you benefit from and have the privilege of that were built on the backs of people who paid dearly before you?
For high end luxury hobbyist goods, absolutely.

I don't much care about how the $4 spatula I just bought came to be. Maybe there is a spatula forum somewhere that they argue over these very same things, just spatula related. Alas, this is an enthusiast knife forum, so it would be best to keep our focus on knives. Plus, the whole "you overlook bad things all the time, so that excuses this other unrelated bad thing" argument is a poor one, at best.

Claiming the moral high ground by not purchasing from a company who has Survives track record, but giving a pass to other companies that also have an indecent reputation because of something they’ve done in the past is hypocritical, don’t you think?

I purchase things primarily because of the product itself and my experience with the company, not because of the subjective moral standards of the people behind the product. My stance is based on my personal experience with Survive.
Do you have an outstanding order with Survive?

Believe me I know this lol it’s definitely frustrating not being able to get in touch with anyone over there. But if they know how they’ll be received by coming onto this forum and no matter what they say or do, there are some people who will never have their minds changed about their past. So, what would be the point of them coming on here to clear the air?

What’s this now, about the 55th regurgitation of the same discussion points? It’s almost humorous. First it’s I got mine, so I don’t care; then it’s what if they demonstrate they’ve turned things around; now it’s the moral high ground argument. Either y’all are reading from the same script or you’re the same person. I’m glad you got your knife, I’m glad you think you’re happy with it. That’s no reason for the rest of the world to support this scumbag company and its owners when there are hundreds if not thousands more putting out just as good or better products, as advertised, ON TIME, and who actually appreciate their customers. Anybody else feel like we’re playing whack-a-mole here?

Their past isn’t in the past, and the air is still as acrid as a runny turd. And they can’t control the narrative in here like on their own Fakebook page. They created this mess themselves, and by their own sales and order records have done nothing to clean it up in over eight years.

The problem with this logic:

They continue to have a years-long backlog with no intention of fulfillment. They recycle the same excuses and hope it will all be forgotten.

"The Dog Ate My Homework" is a lame excuse, and Survive has been using the Knifemaker's equivalent of that for years now.

Most of the posts are responses lol
Why don’t you approach S!K at their glorious booth at BLADE in Atlanta and congratulate them for their superior product, superior customer service, and laudable in-house operation? What, they won’t be a proud vendor at the biggest annual show in the American knife industry?

You still seem to confused about where you are. This is a knife forum. Not a life choices forum. You want to examine every purchase from every area of your life? Have at it, somewhere else. Let's stick to the topic.

And don't lecture about hypocrisy when you use the same example to justify supporting thieves. At this point you are looking like just another shilling troll. Go away.

To grovel, stop defending themselves, apologize, acknowledge that they've let people down.
You know; the typical business "we messed up, we're sorry, we're putting together a plan to make sure this never happens again", story.
Of course none of that matters if the pattern continues.

Check out this fluff article here:

My favorite quote here is:
"After just over six months of concentrated effort, Seiferd now happily confirms that the legendary backlog is almost done with."

... That was December 8th, 2021. A year and a half ago.

He also said, "We want to prove that we’re good to our word.".

Good luck with that, champ.

I think it has already been pointed out to you that their issues are not in their past, they are in their present. The continue to lie about lead times and their own pace relative to their commitments.

They are doing it right now, not just yesterday.

Look at their Production Schedule. Their "preparing to ship soon" list has been essentially frozen in time for more than a year. This is their web page, they could change it any time they choose to.

They never stole anything from me.

Oh I’m not confused at all. The topic is supporting knife makers in the knife community, Survive Knives.
