At 11:13am today I ordered an Architect Knives 6.5" MagnaCut blade with custom color handles, a custom color kydex sheath, a tek-lok, and a pouch mounted to the sheath to hold my Skittles. At 2:14pm I received the shipping confirmation. After reading 240 pages of this thread and watching too much YouTube, I would assume it took 5 - 7 years for a company to achieve such a thing.

He'll be getting to those backorders of toothbrush shanks next week, he couldn't do it this week because they switched from Crest to Colgate brand and the new batch has been clogging up the concrete floor he rubs them on.
Before that Tyler needed to "negotiate" for the brushes and he can only do that after lights out.

I received my AK 6.5 in Magnacut yesterday, 5 days after placing the order. Since Feb 2023, I have gotten a total of 6 Magnacut knives (3 that I gave as gifts to family). It seems to only be S!K having an issue.
 
Yeah I've wondered about that as well why poor unlucky S!K have all these issues while others seem just fine...

Been eye balling alternatives to the 5.1 that I most probably never going to get and the AK 6.5 seems interesting. Love to hear some feedback on it and maybe comparison to other knifes.

The Reiff F6 with micarta scales looks nice also, would be a super interesting option in magnacut.

Or the CPK basic field knife, but chances to getting one of those seems slim, especially for one living in Europe...

Here is a video that made me go ahead and get the AK 6.5 Magnacut:

Just got it, so haven't used it yet. It is very similar to my Reiff F6 CPM 3V except the AK 6.5 is a little longer (6 vs. 6.5 blade) and a little wider. AK also feels slightly lighter. The handle uses the ESEE 6 contoured scales (not the blockier ones), so same feel as that and you can swap them with any ESEE 5/6 scales. I got mine with micarta scales. My Reiff F6 has G10; they didn't offer micarta when I got mine or I would have gotten that. The AK 6.5 feels really well made.

I've got 6 Carothers knifes faster than S! can deliver their backorders, right? Only 2 of my 6 were bought used...

It's truly unbelievable. Thousands of knife makers and he's the only one to have "catastrophic" problems, not only with MagnaCut, but now with ALL CPM metals. Does he really think everyone is dumb enough to believe this garbage? He looks like an absolute clown. It doesn't help he has such a punchable face too.

They must be feeling the heat. Now the PreOrder page for GSO 5.1 says "Sorry, all Steel options for this product are currently unavailable." And if you don't have the direct link to the GSO 5.1 PreOrder (https://surviveknives.com/gso-5-1/), you won't find it because it has been removed from the PreOrder page.

From their perspective that makes sense. They aren't ever going to make that knife out of any steel at all, so what does it matter which one a customer picks?

Don't mind those pesky 5.1s...they are shipping soon.
 
Omg. After everything, he jumps hatchets for another company to the front of the line. His customers must love this.
 
What an absolute joke. "Macrosegregation" and "carbide lumps" now. Where did Guy get his meteorology degree again?

Those stacks of blades on the desk look like the same stacks he has been "working" on since he became a YouTube sensation. Friday was a day off for the "workers", Saturday was a weekend, Sunday was ax cutting and YouTube day... If anyone was holding out hope, you might want to forget a out it.
 
I’ve taken a screen shot of some YouTube comments I found interesting over the past some few days. Looks as if Guy and Niagara are into it legally now and Guy isn’t able to get any more cpm steel. He has thus removed many models from his website and only has a handful of options left, and none are offered in anything besides bohler steels. He’s pushing this as “higher quality.” He is also blaming freight companies for delivery of these bohler steel options not shipping in the listed timeframe and refusing to give a straight forward answer when asked about refunds.
