Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Man... those elusive "high" standards. I guess everyone else in the industry is just full of shit then.

This "speaking truth to power" bit he is trying is absurdly comical.

I was thinking about this a bit more - he is quite literally throwing most of the industry (if not the whole industry) under the bus right now because, in his mind, it's unfathomable that he might be wrong.

Never mind all of the brilliant manufacturers and talented makers out there that use the same steels, often ordered from the same outlets, they all simply don't have good standards and their knives are apparently shite.

The cojones this "guy" has. At this point, who cares if he somehow makes it out on the other side and continues on, he won't have any friends that matter in the end when all the dust settles anyway.

Or he's simply choosing not to tell the truth, (there's a word for that), while knowing full well that his version is a fabrication made from whole cloth.

Offered simply for the alternative perspective in the search for truth...since I have no dog in this fight beyond the well-being of this community.

I think you're right. Though, in my experiences, chronic prevaricators often believe their own spins.

He claims this is a "learning journey" , gee that's swell. Good thing he went into this not knowing how to do diddly squat except take money. Don't worry though, surely after 8 years he'll soon have it perfected and make everything all right. Also hes a Nigerian Prince.

We don't discuss family here...even in jest.

I think that there is a bit of delusional thinking and mental health issues that are becoming apparent. Guy has always been full of it, but over the last few week he has gone off the deep end.

He is literally blaming his failure on the steel that 100's (if not 1000s) of other companies use with no problems.

First time trying to link a pic here, but I like this response from Guy. So apparently the sheaths are the reason he can't ship S90V orders from 2020 and he needs more money to get those.

Oh yeah- we’ve heard about the Kydex problem excuse.

It’s a riot.

Old fumbles can’t stop getting tripped up by all the big major corporations. *sarcasm* It’s definitely not his fault- he knows what he’s doing and can’t screw up. *end sarcasm*

...and a new video. Guy is really going scorched earth on CPM / Niagara. He claims lawyers are involved

edit to add:
he seems to be saying that he is not only having issues with Magnucut, but also 3V. Seriously?!?!?! To even the most poorly informed among us, this just does not make sense.
So oddly enough there was an issue with a melt of 3V many years ago. It stopped alpha knife supply from even carrying the steel for a while. There was something wrong with it. I think there were inclusions or something causing the steel to fail. Manufacturing defects happen to everyone but survive just had too much bad luck.

The sheath excuse has been used countless times… it’s comical at this point.

In regards to his whining about Larrin blocking him on other platforms and he can’t have a conversation with him.

Larrin is a member of BF’s, the same as Guy SURVIVE! SURVIVE! , he won’t attempt to contact him on BF’s though as Guy is unable to control the narrative here… he needs to stay in his little safe space where he can keep repeating his nonsense and not be called out for it.

Wait, we're back to blaming the sheaths again? I can't remember the order any longer. Is it blade steel, delivery companies, predatory lending and then sheaths?

I would also say Larrin is wisely staying as out of this as possible because while he designed Magnacut he isn't the manufacturer I don't expect he has a regular daily involvement in the manufacturing/production of it. He really wouldn't be equipped to discuss more than what the steel is and in small batch melts and testing we capable of. Mass manufacturing does introduce greater potential for issues and errors but those would only come back to him through the manufacturer to determine if the steel formula has an impact on the process and how to resolve those issues in the process any steel sold with issues would be a matter for the manufacturer, seller/reseller, and buyer to work out. I would say even an internally designed steel the R&D team aren't typically involved in issues that the buyers may find in a run of a given product. I would imagine engaging with Survive would have more negative impact for Larrin so any involvement he could or should have with Survive should be funneled through Niagara.

Exactly, very important to keep those apart. My experience is that you can have a huge variation in steel quality depending on which manufacturing company you source it from, even with the same quality demands on the purchase order.

It is also very important that you as a buyer are very specific with the requirements for the product and what you include on your purchase order. Do you "only" buy the chemical composition so to speak or have you also included requirements for testing like ultra sonic, x-ray, dye-penetrant or even destructive testing to establish that the mechanical properties are as the should.

Guy is now posting screenshots of messages from Bob Shabala (President & CEO at Niagara Specialty Metals) from June of 2021...
