Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Maybe the state will send him to prison, where he would report to the prison shop daily to finish knives for his former customers and he will remain until every last order is accounted for. It would probably be a life sentence.

The batch would be marked “Survive /the State Penitentiary”

I know it has been a while since I posted here, though I kept ear pressed against the wall daily. Thank you, Blues and Boru for accepting my apology. And I think I owe this group an apology too.

I want to apologize to anyone on here thinking I was a shill because of what I wrote. I can promise you I didn't see nor intend for it to be that way, but now in hindsight, I can see why you would think that. It's the intention vs impact thing. I suppose I was just delusional. I have to admit you all called it. You were right and I was terribly wrong.

If you will indulge me....: When I talked to Guy, he said he had between 2K - 3K pieces that need to completed. Jon says 3.5K - 4K. So I'm going with the higher figures. He said that he had to go meet with the PA Attorney General (PAG) to show and explain what was going on; evidently, there have been a few of these meetings. My sense is PAG told him to stop taking pre-orders ( he mentioned they wanted him to make changes to the web site) and that was the coup de grace as the saying goes. Most of today's (7/2/2024) video is what he told me. I asked about what he planned to do with the outstanding orders, and that's when he mentioned trying to partner with someone to take over the finishing.

If any of you have questions for me, I'll answer them. Again, thank you for reading this and I apologize.

I am one of the members who felt you were a ‘shill’ at the time, and I appreciate you posting this.

There are so many great, ethical, and honest knife makers out there and I am infuriated and disgusted by Guy and his lies.

There's no feasible path for anyone to finish those knives since there's no way for the partner to make money. The money paid for the knives is long gone.

What's even more odd to me is that they had over a million dollars in people's money. They could have built a pole barn, bought 6 haas machines for pretty cheap and the rest of the equipment and literally made every single knife. And still had hundreds of thousands to buy all the materials and steel. Utter mismanagement or straight theft.

Well, you called it, and it was something I'd said the whole time in this thread as well: they were using that money to pay personal bills, put gas in cars, eat hot food every night, go on vacations, and other personal expenditures in addition to paying for things like those machines, multiple shop moves, and materials, and whatever the hell that bed and breakfast thing was that burnt down. They very clearly squandered millions of dollars over the decade or longer that they were in business.

My advice to you is to go enjoy the rest of the forum. Being that this is your third return and apology in this thread (once via dm with the mods), you called all of our integrity into question, and have displayed a pretty low reasoning ability on the thread topic, I'm not inclined to see much value in anything you have to say on the matter of survive. Sorry. Just my opinion of course.

The more cynical side of me would say y'all are caping for Guy's disgruntled former business partners and competitors. But I'm going to take the high road on that one and not believe it, but it's hard not to do so.

Well the writing was on the wall way back then, I think many of us tried to warn people off of losing their money/becoming a victim of the scheme. I watched the whole video from heavy set tactical and I just want to facepalm, what the hell. I feel like we did bladeforums a solid by letting everyone know that would listen and shout out to Kevin for booting them when he did. If no criminal charges come from this, I'll be surprised.

The last survive video is a riot. Blame, lie, and then go right into listing which models you are working on. Some things never change. Lol.

This has been going on so long I wonder if statutes of limitations have run out in at least some of the cases. I hope not.

That's a real possibility, I'm sure several thousand unfulfilled orders that aren't refunded has to qualify for some form of theft or scheme that should run afoul of the law. Though from the video I watched above, there's no money to make anyone whole, not sure what can be done other than jail/restitution that would take them a life time to pay off.
