Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

If technology then had the state of the art online tools we have today we would have all known in 2015, here's proof using current internet photo enhancement tools that have revealed the plan they erased!

From his latest blade finishing and peening videos it sounds like he is trying to get some local machine shops to "take over" and I am guessing they think they are getting a business with thousands of nearly ready to go blades and materials. I guess they don't realize all of those blades and materials were already sold years ago just never delivered to the real owners. Hope they do some research before the dive in too deep

Yeah I'm confused about his plan. Who's buying his "IP"? I have yet to see anything super unique about his manufacturing, and blade shapes aren't exactly protected.

As for buying the brand... it's so toxic now that who's going to buy it? Despite having so much momentum early on that success seemed inevitable, he burned just about every bridge he could in the industry.

And finally, buying his inventory... why? Like you said, the knives have already been paid for. There's no incentive. They'd be losing money on every unit moved, and quite a bit of it at that.

It's over. And now that he himself has put out these videos, he can't even scam the unknowing (like me a few months ago) into buying "in stock" items.

Maybe I'm showing my ignorance here since I don't know anything about the legal process he's going through, but I wonder if he's trying to make a show of good faith so the authorities take it easier on him when the time comes.

^^^^^^

Any investigator worth his or her salt, if inclined to investigate, would find that Guy has given them a mountain of evidence to use against himself personally, as well as the debacle known as SK!.

The question is whether the matter rises to the level of their taking an interest criminally or civilly...and that is usually based upon the amounts involved, and egregiousness of both the intent of the parties under investigation, and the damage rendered unto those who have suffered loss.

He's not doing himself any favors with his multi-year dog and pony show, based upon what I have observed and / or gleaned from others.

Are you in contact with the AG in PA? Were you scammed?

I should clarify that I actually did get a knife in the end after much back and forth. I assume that had I been "patient", the outcome may have been different.

I just meant that although I was aware of the drama years ago, I hadn't logged on to BF in a long, long time (hence the new account). So I was unaware that things had gotten worse, and when I saw the "in stock" listing with a specific delivery timeline, l incorrectly assumed that was true.

I'd bet I was one of many, I just happened to get lucky.

Someone should talk ELON MUSK into using some of his extra money to finish and deliver everyone's pre-orders...

I do wonder if Guy has retained a lawyer and is now trying to put forth the appearance of a good faith effort to complete outstanding orders.

If what he claims is true, he’s in way over his head and it’s obvious it’s been this way for a while. The end game for S!K was destined to be the “failing” of some other company to cause a hold up somewhere and become the straw that broke the back of S!K.

Heavy Set Tactical posted a video of him setting up his very own "knife shop" in his shed. Not sure why I would buy a knife from a guy who's experience in the industry is getting fleeced for $30k.

One thing I do wonder, did he walk of with a trunk full of blanks? Seems fishy to me.

Every thief has their apologists and co-conspirators…

I’m not sure how I have come to understand this to be the case, but I believe Heavy Set Tactical spent $30k to purchase that machine from Survive.

Two other interesting factoids:
1) S!K liquidated all their machinery.
2) Guy said “it was just going to be too much to bring Jon up to speed”. (Paraphrased)

I’m not sure he got fleeced, but I’m reasonably sure HST has just what it takes to Mr. Magoo himself into a fracas on the order of Survive! Knives.

He did not lose $30k, maybe like $10k (because the machine was not worth what the guy said it was), he did get nearly 1000 blades out the door that would have never gone out otherwise, and he spent a few months of his life dedicated to that task. He may have unwittingly created a few more preorders to come in, but not that much, certainly far less the number of deliveries he got out. John has a passion for blades and saw an opportunity to get into the industry but did not realize the chaos that was survive.

There are a ton of blanks Survive has, and I have talked to John about how lousy it is that they will go to waste, but at this point they are stolen property and nobody can really ethically do anything with them. I am helping him set up his shop, and source materials, so no, he did not leave with a box of blanks, even though Survive does have tens of thousands that will probably go to waste.

Thank you for the update. I would hate to see someone have their reputation tarnished unfairly. I used to be interested in real estate. Where I lived no one would help you get started. They operated in a zero sum mindset. But I’m glad to see you invest some of your time and expertise to help.

Thanks for adding some clarity regarding what is going on.

This may turn into one of those Marvel Comics spin offs where the main character dies or gets imprisoned in a magic prison cell, and his sidekick becomes the main character in a whole new drama?

Resurrection! Knives could be a good name for this transition company.

Please advise when preorders are possible…….!

There sure seems to be a steady stream of 4” Survive knives appearing on the bay. Quite a coincidence that was what Guy was peddling at the end. Makes me wonder…….. Surely Guy would not take a blade already paid for and ….. hhhhmmm ……….🤔
