Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

It seemed like Olive was very popular. She still it, here's a pic of us in new Hampshire.

Here is some of the equipment. It's crowded, but the rest of the building was just finished being remodeled, so this will all be rearranged and hooked up in the next month or so. We did get two Haas CNC mills, one of which is at our machine shop, the other is in storage, but moving to this location in a couple weeks.

You'll notice lots of familiar equipment if you watched the videos
So the new building that just finished getting remodelled wouldn't happen to be the old Lincoln school and mall site that has recently been turned into apartments or something?

We should probably move non S!K stuff to my intro post, but no it is not. Not too sure where that is, but my building is a bit too far gone for apartments at this point. It's also a work in progress. I'll post updates on the other forum page

Edit: Ahhh I get the reference, LOL. That is not the building.

Gold luck on your endeavors, hope it works out for you folks.

I personally would have avoided any correlation with Survive! Knives in any context.

Any association is going to draw red flags, and at the very least a tether to a brand that scammed many people and business's in the industry.

I would not want my name tied to that.

At any rate...good luck!

Over years I think it has been unpacked ad-nauseam that while not terrible knives (design wise) there really was nothing particularly special about what that bottom feeding feltcher tried to scam his way through the market with. Go your own way, understand that only rabbid fanboys (many of whom are now out lots of $s) thought that Sly Guy made anything new or particularly special.

It's interesting you say you bought all the equipment got his dog and starting this new knife company in a building you purchased blah blah blah... money you paid was used to pay off Survives debts and equipment he previously sold that he owed money on still but judging by the photos looks like you have everything they every owned.

Also you say you don't know where Guy is and you did purchase any of the existing stock like knives, blanks, sheath etc that according to HeavyFat tactical were in the thousands. But you are going to be making knives similar to survives. Hmmmmmm

Everyone claims Guy is broke and vanished HeavySet fat boy also claimed in his BS exit videos that Ellie has left Guy and she didn't know what was going on and nothing was in her name.

Guy never claimed bankruptcy he says he signed some voluntary compliance order and self liquidated everything. Funny thing is can't find any record of a voluntary compliance order. If he had claimed bankruptcy the government pen pushers would probably have dug deeper and all the lies would be found out.

Screenshot_20250114_094241_Samsung Notes.jpgSo ill start with what I've dug up so as for Ellie not owning anything and being a victim like everyone else according to FatVape Tactical that is BS. These holding LLC have been used to purchase old big historic properties around Kellogg one of them being the McConnell Hotel that was purchased by Seiferd holdings that burnt down in 2017 that vacant block in prime location is still owned by them its never been sold.

Remember the internet is forever and if someone else has posted something it's extremely hard to remove Screenshot_20250114_102033_Chrome.jpg

So according to this that someone posted they also purchased old lincoln school and mall building that they are remodelling to be a new workshop and facilities. That would explain where all the money was going.

This is why Guy and Ellie never claimed bankruptcy so he could make up this big story pretend to vanish have multiple people who have come out of nowhere corroborated the store and get away with the fraud.

Where i live its called Phoenixing

Not to sound overly critical, because new knife companies (moral ones, that is) are always welcome. But I do not think Micron is going to even take off if this is how you’re starting out.

It’s almost uncanny valley, you happened to pick up equipment right when Survive? And Guy fell off the face of the world. You seem to have taken one look at his knives and fallen head over heels with HIS specific designs. You even took his dog, which is weird, though I don’t know what the details are- maybe that was for the best depending on what Guy was planning.

Then your first order of business is to come to this thread and tell us what your company is not, instead of telling us how you plan to be different. My advice, which I admit may be worth exactly what you’re paying for it, is to step back and start this fresh. Don’t hide where you got your start, equipment, etc- but certainly don’t harp about the qualities of Survive and Guy.

Also, change your logo a little bit.

It is public record to see who owns what company, or at the very least where they are based out of. It seems this Lincoln building is across the country, which i admittedly didn't know about, but is pretty easy to disprove that our building is the Lincoln building. If anyone in PA wants to check us out, stop on by.

When the equipment purchase went though, Guy's intention was to continue to make knives by cash flowing the subcontracting of each process (with no income).

The equipment that we purchased had liens on it that we legally had to pay directly to the lenders in order to take, which is good because he would have just taken the money and run. We did get everything, even the benches and mop buckets, but did not get inventory, IP, etc. as he still has knives to make (??!!?)

I appreciate that new knife companies are always welcome, and I believe that trust is earned, and I believe you'll get to trust Micron.

Think about 5 years down the road when we have established ourselves as a reputable brand and *not Guy*. It would have been far, far easier to keep this under wraps and not associate with survive knives, but what message am I sending when that comes out that we are using his mop buckets with his dog in the background? This is my way of telling the community who we are and what our plan is.

The logo is a fair point and I've thought about that a lot. The name and the logo are perfect for who we want to be as a company. Incorporating precision into nature. 5 years down the road it will be worth the shit I get to keep the logo.

Also with Olive, Guy had made it clear that he was going to be in no position to care for her. Last I heard was was he was couch surfing.

I am not Guy. Feel free to message me and I'll give you a tour of the shops.

Jack

As others have pointed out, everything related to S!K and Guy is fishy. You have tied yourself to that in what I can only guess was an attempt to get exposure. Good luck in your endeavors, but there is going to be a level of skepticism from this community.

If I had a new knife business, I don’t know why I’d ever associate myself with S!K. I’d never mention where the machines came from. Even phrases like, “come see the shop, I’ll show you what I’m doing” in the context of S!K is infuriating.

You seem like a reasonable person, but if there was ever a PR land mine, I think you found it. Good luck

Coming to this thread of all places to defend Guy’s good intentions after all the people he victimized is wild. And to top it off by telling us he abandoned his dog…?

And, after it was suggested he do his own Intro thread to talk about his knife company, he spent half (or more) of the introduction post talking about Survive!; almost as if he admires S!K. At most a single sentence saying the equipment was purchased during the S!K liquidation would be enough.

Exactly. Went so far as to say Survive made the best fixed blade knives “we’ve ever handled.”

I came away from this thread with the clear understanding despite never owning one that Survive didn’t make any knives, they bolted handles to blanks and sharpened them, and that was only when they weren’t stealing folks hard earned money and NOT doing that.

I figure once Spark (he DOES still run this place, right?) has added a sub-forum here for Micron Knives, I might check them out.
Hopefully this guy is legit, does good work, makes good money, and doesn't do knives like Survive. Yes, I have a few. They used to make good knives. I did not like the last couple at all. Seemed they had totally lost their way on the ergonomics. The only reason I still have them is I can't give them away.

Spark doesn't automatically create sub-forums without discussing the matter beforehand with the maker...and at least a three year commitment to a knife maker subscription (up front) on their part.

I don't have a clue, and won't venture a guess if that's in the cards in the current circumstances.
