He also apologized and retracted his article when threatened with law suit by Microtech even though he was 100% in the right, if memory serves. Lost all respect after that. Just another shill at this point. That is literally what keeps survives' ponzi scheme going, these shitbag shills.the person that wrote the “everyday commentary” article should be ashamed of their ignorance of both knives in general and the specific company he is writing about. Absolute garbage article.

Search function "everyday commentary". It was recently discussed in one of the you tube reviewer threads. I haven't gone back and looked at the threads when it actually happened years ago, so my details might be slightly off, but it was not a good look all around, particularly for microtech and this everyday commentary guy. Microtech sued over something silly that they were absolutely in the wrong for (a critique of them copying a ZT design) and everyday caved immediately.Sounds interesting. Do you have details and/or links?

Survive Knives GSO 4.5 Review — Everyday Commentary
Survive Knives has a troubled past. Their success going forward is based on how they deal with that past. The knives have been there since the beginning all the way back to that first review on Nutnfancy’s channel probably a decade ago. Survive Knives makes great knives. They just don’t always get twww.everydaycommentary.com
I left a comment to the effect that hand-waving away the very significant issues Survive has had delivering knives and providing realistic timeframes was doing a disservice to readers. It hasn’t yet been approved.
I do own several and they are nice knives but the business issues have been SO problematic that there should be a huge buyer beware caveat in any post recommending their knives.
I wonder if those still waiting 5+ years on knives threaten to sue him for shilling a ponzi scheme, will he post a retraction?![]()
Survive! Knives GSO 4.7 Review — Everyday Commentary
Well, the Small Batch Insanity article (and its follow up article) I posted got noticed and posted on Blade Forum. There it stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest when I mentioned the fact that Survive! Knives business model needed some work. Basically I pointed out three prwww.everydaycommentary.com

Survive! Knives and Criticisms of the Small Batch Post — Everyday Commentary
Something of a controversy erupted so the scheduled Olamic review will be next week. Sorry folks. That knife deserves a really well written review. The folks in the BladeForums subforum for Survive! Knives didn't take kindly to the criticism I leveled against Surviwww.everydaycommentary.com
The Every Day Commentary guy knows all about S!K and their problems. He has been aware of the train-wreck that is S!K since 2016. I find it interesting that the current article does not mention his past review and glosses over all the historic and ongoing issues with the phase "troubled past."

Trolling for Hate: Small Batch Insanity — Everyday Commentary
If you remember the brief fire that burned bright that was the original KnifeHaterz IG account, you might also remember, before it went off the rails started just being mean, his or her precision sniping of one the gear world's greatest foibles--our infatuation with small batch stuff. Let's justwww.everydaycommentary.com

Here is an email from him to myself after I sent him one…It's not surprising that this guy, who gets paid advertising dollars from traffic generated by his blog, would want to make sure he wasn't upsetting any apple carts.
I’m not sure if you are familiar at all with Survive’s business practices? They have taken a lot of money from paying customers over the years only to provide nothing in return. I know several people who “pre-ordered” knives years ago, who still never received their knives. When these customers contact Survive they are told that the knives are still being made, their knife should be ready in a few months, and that they can’t refund the money. This has continued for many years and happens to anybody who places a pre-order through Survive. There is a perpetual wait list of paying customers who are being robbed as we speak. I really don’t think it’s acceptable for you to promote their company like this. They are beyond just bad at business. They are crooks and should be treated as such. They only provided you with their product so they could rope in a few more suckers. I really do find it disgusting that you have such a lengthy review about them. A very quick Google search would tell you that Survive Knives are liars and thieves. Please consider doing a bit more research.
Cheers,
Will C.
All I read from that is that this guy Tony is perfectly happy to receive income from anyone. The fact that that scumbag put a knife in his hand to review when he’s got a backlog years long should have had Tony thinking to himself “…ya know, maybe I shouldn’t be giving a guy with this level of bad history print time on my knife blog.” I mean, he’s literally reviewing a knife that most people won’t be able to get unless they’ve got an audience that a glowing review can directly generate new orders from.
The fact that he’s defending Dan Koster, who never made a bunch of people whole; is just the rancid icing on that whole turd loaf.![]()
Ignored the main problem. Didn't address anything. Tried to make you look stupid, as if you weren't aware of his past "reviews". Kick starter is a scam, so duh. Threw out another oxygen thief as defense. Called a 10 year old scam ass ponzi scheme a start-up. What a joke. Here is an email from him to myself after I sent him one…
I am not sure you are familiar with my history with Survive Knives. Here is an article I did on them a long time ago:
https://www.everydaycommentary.com/...9/survive-knives-and-criticisms-of-small.html
Go take a look at the thread on BladeForums. There was some dust thrown there as well.
I know of their past. I condemned it in the past. But they do appear to be doing better. I am a firm believer in giving everyone a new chance to redeem themselves. Its also not uncommon for companies to have these problems when starting up. There are a half dozen of these stories from KS knives. Go take a look at the Daniel Koster folding bushcraft knife on KS:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2135290208/bushcraft-folder/posts/3401789
He is just now finishing after closing the kickstarter in 2016. That is a long time. Its not right, either, but it is not uncommon.
I think what I wrote in the review was correct—the fate of the company rests on how he deals with people, backlogs included, going forward. I can’t say much more than I have on the subject, especially if you read what I have wrote in the past.
Thanks for your email. I am also sorry for assuming everyone as read what I wrote in the past. Do you think I should include a link to the first article in the new review?

Now that we know he's reading this, open up your comment section Mr. Lawyer. Or just like survive, you want to be able to control all the bad press?
