Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

I’ll play for a little bit, personally I think you’re borderline trolling… blaming members for SK’s behavior is idiotic at best.

Google “SURVIVE! Knives complaints”, top two are BBB complaints with the following BF’s thread at number 4.

The thread above is one of many negative threads in GBU concerning SK’s business practices.

They had their sub forum shut down for a reason… it wasn’t voluntary on their part, they were kicked to the curb for continuing to run the Ponzi scheme that allows them to stay in business.

Despite their forum being closed, Guy and Ellie are both still members here, I’ve pointed that out before and even tagged them so members could view their profile.

You would think with their company being trashed on a consistent and well deserved basis that perhaps they would come on BF’s and defend their good name… instead the occasional shill such as yourself shows up and makes the attempt for them… honestly it’s quite pathetic.
Why he no wanna play with you?

😁

Yeah when they started letting people pre-pay for the seconds before they even existed it really verged into comedic tragedy.
But hey, do they get good credit if they stopped that practice? Some might put in a group order as a show of encouragement. You know what though? It is the customers waiting 5 years and not complaining enough that are the real problem with survive!

I Googled "Survive Knives" (not "survive knives complaints") and the 7th result on the 1st page was the Better Business Bureau complaints page:

"Current Alerts For This Business

Pattern of Complaint:
On July 18, 2018, BBB recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding delivery schedule. Consumers allege they order and pay for products from Survive! Knives’ online store, and after several years they have not received their products. On July 18, 2018, BBB notified the company of the complaint patter. To date, the company has not responded to BBB's request to address the pattern. "

If you read through the complaints, and the replies from Survive! Knives, you'll get a good laugh. Not only do they give the same old excuses, they also out right lie claiming to have fixed certain issues, claims they don't make in other places or that they contradict other places. I guess they thought no one would cross check their responses to the BBB with what they've said elsewhere.

For me, shinyedges shinyedges 's thread on shutting down Survive! Knives' subforum appears on the 3rd page of search results on google after entering "Survive! Knives" or "Survive Knives" (no exclamation point). Seems to me, it is hard for bladeforums' content on Survive! Knives to get top billing because of all the business references to Survive! Knives the company and/or survival knives in general. Top suggested search options at the bottom of the google page is "what happened to survive knives" though. Clicking that link takes you to a page that includes a BF link as well as other more negative press.

I think we can help to drive up BFC results if we use the proper name of Survive Knives when referring to Survive Knives.

Still the same ol' Survive Knives!

This dude literally blames customers not getting their knives on them🤦‍♂️

Wow. Guy must be one their pay roll. I will remember this dude, every time he posts if he doesn't get booted, for this epic level of stupidity. One of people you see their screen name and think "there's the fool who white knights for survive and blames the customers for not getting their knives"

Permanent face palm emoji should be added to his profile, like the banner for brown shoe lol

I'm not trolling. If you nail me with a ban I won't be back under a new name and email to fuck around. SK deserves all of the negative publicity they're getting in here (the behavior, comments, and maturity level of some of their detractors here is a whole different story).

Still, I've never once argued they don't deserve the criticism and negative feelings towards them. I've said more than once no one should buy from them, and, people should take an active effort in getting their money back. File complaints with the BBB, get a lawyer, go to the police. Show up at their shop.

SK's behavior is their own doing.

Regarding blaming members, it's not a member's fault they've fallen into the Survive waiting game trap. That said I think anyone who has let them hold on to hundreds of dollars of theirs and cosigned themselves to patiently wait for a knife for 6 years and not doing anything about it IS contributing to their behavior. Context; they're letting them get away with it.

I feel the exact same way about scammers on here (and of course elsewhere). If someone here gets ripped off, e.g by that PM2Phanatic guy, and doesn't go to the police, or worse just sits there and waits, I think that's enabling said scammers to keep doing what they're doing. Why? Because they're not being held accountable.

The BBB link about Survive was the second on my list.

They had their sub forum shut down for a reason.
And a good one at that.

And I bet they have fake accounts and read this forum and thread every couple of days.

You would think with their company being trashed on a consistent and well deserved basis that perhaps they would come on BF’s and defend their good name
Maybe. Survive trashes Millet every video and Millet doesn't seem interested in defending themselves. Maybe someone should invite them to this thread to clear the air?

… instead the occasional shill such as yourself shows up and makes the attempt for them… honestly it’s quite pathetic.
I like their knives a lot yet also I recognize they have a lot of well-placed anger towards them.
To me it looks like their knives are starting to ship out finally, with the caveat that they've made the same claims and promises in the past (so I could be wrong). I'm not suggesting anyone should give them a chance.

Bottom line is that if their knives are starting to ship out then it's good news for people waiting for them. Don't buy knives from them. If you're still waiting on a knife from them either sit at home and gnash your teeth or do something about it.

Hi EngrSorenson, I can't be any more straight here than I already am.

I did join for one purpose*. I came across this thread a while ago and decided to come back and pass on my experience with Survive after having a good experience.

InsipidMoniker, the whole paragraph adds more context.

I did join for one purpose*. I came across this thread a while ago and decided to come back and pass on my experience with Survive after having a good experience. In my first post, I pointed out I was primarily posting for people waiting on their blades or considering new orders. My experience with their shipping time might be good news to someone waiting, or might cause them to go get a refund. Good to go either way.

So I forgot about that but in hindsight yup I brought up people looking at new orders leveraging my own good experience. You're right. That's on me and I'll revise it by saying regardless of my own good experience don't order from them.

I'll give you credit for this much, unlike Survive when you lie and get called out you at least admit it.

I left a comment to the effect that hand-waving away the very significant issues Survive has had delivering knives and providing realistic timeframes was doing a disservice to readers. It hasn’t yet been approved.

I do own several and they are nice knives but the business issues have been SO problematic that there should be a huge buyer beware caveat in any post recommending their knives.
