Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Oh, one other thing... regarding the price.... People have said their knives are overpriced. I won't deny that. IMO, it is debatable that this knife is worth the money I paid for it....

[ETA: went and looked. I ordered this knife in May of 2016. I received it 4-7-2022. Just shy of 6 years. That is pathetic.]
Tesla's stock price in May 2016 was $43. Today it's $1025. 😜

In January, 2001, Enron's stock closed at $82/share. On November 28, 2001, it closed at $.61 a share. Thereafter it fell to $0.

True, which is why post your post and tokerblue's post are irrelevant.

What is probably much more relevant is that overall, prices in the United States have risen approximately 18% during those six years. Make of that what you will, you could play it either way: 1. "The dollars spent in 2016 are worth only about 80 to 85 cents each, now." 2. "My investments have been returning an average of about x% a year, so if I'd kept those dollars and added them to my investment account they would now be worth about ($1+(x%*6)) each."

I think telling folks about your honest experience is a good thing to do. Survive!’s reputation will speak for itself, which I think you’ve addressed. I’m happy you finally got a knife, which is better than no knife.

6 year wait time… ooph.

It’s still my humble opinion that S!K is ten pounds of excrement in a 5 pound bag.

Well, Enron was being run by scammers, so...

But the point was that SK tied up people's money for 6 years.
All very good points. TBH, in 2016 dollars, I’d have to admit the knife might be (probably is?) overpriced for what it is. Not sure about that. It may or may not be in the noise. That depends on your noise level.

Regarding the 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag… for the most part, I’d say they still are. A six year wait for an assembled knife is hard to swallow. It can be said to be debatable as to whether I should have asked for a refund or just waited it out. Toward the beginning, I probably should have asked for a refund. Toward the end, better to wait it out imo. The biggest reason I posted was to say that after that amount of time, at least I got a knife.

Glad you finally received your knife dogboye.

I was freaking out when they delayed me for 5 months on my order while I watched people receiving models released after my order was made with a stated 60 day delivery time. . Couldn't imagine the anxiety level waiting for 6 years.

After the first 2-3 years, it was probably more anger than anxiety. Definitely after I started seeing them marketing new designs. No matter how good their knives are, or how aggressive their new designs are, I would never recommend anyone buy from them. Their delivery schedule is pathetic, and I’m really not sure their business model is even legal. I’m just glad the whole cluster-**** is over, and I’m out.

They are taking orders again for the GSO 5.1 yet they have not sent the blades out from May of 2016. Oh yea right they will be caught up in a few months. Remember the by Christmas commitment that they pull and then take down. It almost that time again.

Has anyone recently ordered from this page:
Available Now

The text on the page reads

But the below that

Asking because the page lists their TSK with a "Preorder Open" blurb. My buddy is still waiting for his preordered TSK which is >2 years late. It would not surprise me that Survive is selling to new orders ahead of his, since they already have his money, It would also not surprise me to find they are operating to their own definition "now", different from what the rest of the world uses.

Just wondering what the actual Real World ship time is for these. Actually clicking the "In Stock" link goes to a blank page so I'm guessing this is just more deception from them.

I really wish that someone would go back and watch the videos that Guy and that other guy made last year and compare what they said ("this will be done by the end of the year") to what really happened. I know that they predicted things that did not happen, but it would be interesting to see how much of what they said was inaccurate.

2015. Maybe they're waiting to send those people the 10th Anniversary Edition for free. 😂

but... weren't they supposed to be caught up in December 2021? Over 30% of the knives sold in 2018 are still not completed. Did Guy and Ellie EVER say that there was going to be multi year wait on any of their knives? I hear a lot from them about how change is just around the corner, but they still have product from 2015 that has not been shipped...

I think they said that the knives should ship by Christmas. As another poster pointed out, they didn't say Christmas of what year. 😜

Great news everyone! In two months, Survive moved one step closer to clearing their 2015 backlog by 98.3% to 98.4%. I'm no rocket biologist, but here are the projected finish dates that I used mathemagic to come up with.

2015: 0.1% every 2 months = 32 months!
2016: 0.2% every 2 months = 61 months!
2017: 0.1% every 2 months = 48 months!

Just for fun, since they're using tenths of a percent... lets figure out how many knives that would be if they only had 1000 on order every year!
2015: 16 remaining
2016: 122 remaining
2017: 24 remaining
2018: 5 remaining
2019: 254 remaining
2020: 383 remaining
2021: 488 remaining

That'd be a backlog of 1292 knives! ooph!
