Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Just for fun, since they're using tenths of a percent... lets figure out how many knives that would be if they only had 1000 on order every year!
2015: 16 remaining
It is bizarre, isn't it? It's like someone works on a single 2015 blade order during their lunch or smoke break. And it takes a full week of those breaks for finish a knife.

All I know is, if I ordered a Survive! Knives Knaf, I'd likely have arthritis of the hands before I got it, and then I could have the pleasure to stare at my new S!K paperweight.

That'd be a backlog of 1292 knives! ooph!
I wonder do you think they had that many? I wonder how many knives they actually have to make to move that needle that 0.1%.

I took a chance on a couple more orders.

Buying second hand or waiting until orders start shipping and there are some spares available seems to be the way to go.

Still thinking they have it all turned around?

Yes and no. I'm convinced they're pumping out more knives now than ever based on the previously stated reasons. My own experience, experiences I'm seeing across user groups, the influx of new knives being put up for sale.

Their shipping times and promises are still out to lunch and their backlog of orders is unacceptable. I'm curious about the story behind those 2015 and 2016 orders. I wonder if they're some kind of difficult design or in such low numbers that it's more economical to pump-out easy to produce designs to get cash in the bank. If someone has waited 6 years for a blade then chances are they'll wait 7.

Um, no. The GSO-5.1 that I waited 5 (6?) years for, that I just received, should have been an easy delivery. I already had the same da** knife in 20CV, and ordered from them their “next run” in 3V. It was supposed to be a little longer, because they were also working their way through the 7/7, the -6, and I think the 3.5. The 5.1 wasn’t a new design when I ordered it. It wasn’t even a fu**in’ new steel. It SHOUKD have been a no-brainer. There is no reasonable excuse to have had to wait for 6 fu**ing years for that knife. But here we are. Or I am. I received it just a couple months shy of the 6 year anniversary of ordering it. Anyone who orders anything directly from them at this point is an idiot. And i say that as an idiot. With experience. At the time I ordered, they were actually releasing knives on a somewhat reasonable schedule. Their schedule is now sh**. They need to go the way of Griffith knives. They really aren’t worth sending more money. They might eventually produce good, even great, knives. Hell, the knives I’ve managed to receive from them largely are great knives. But not worth the wait. They just aren’t. They work. But they don’t actually do anything better than a cheap-a** Corona-made.
And certainly not worth more that companies on here that can produce a new run of a custom in a reasonable time.

In fewer words for those who don’t like to read:

DO NOT BUY FEOM SURVIVE KNIVES UNTIL (MAYBE) they have actually demonstrated beyond ALL doubt that they are producing and sending out knives.

The better solution is they fold and take up a new scam.

Sorry…. Just calling it as I see it.

Well I’m just pretending those stats mean that they are counting completed knives. 2015 is an interesting one, because in 2 months they incremented 0.1%, and if they’re only counting completed knives, the smallest quantity of knives they could be making for that year is 1000. I just used a big assumption.

The last time they updated those stats was on 3/2/2022. It's now 5/2/2022. Maybe they'll have some free time today to update it again another 0.1%.

There are lots of S!K's on fleabay. Mostly their new 4.5 model. I have a suspicion those are from certain accounts Guy has chosen to "fence" sales for him to make his knives appear relevant.
