Take a peek at Cold Steel's 2008 lineup

Hrm. A handful of interesting looking ones, but once you factor in price, I think about the only one that really interests me is the pocket bushman. I've got an old Mini-Bushman (damn I wish they hadn't discontinued those, they were one of the absolute best hard use beater knives, just awesome), and I love it. The pocket bushman could make for a decent hard use folder.

I was set on the large Espada until I saw the $339 MSRP :( Sorry Lynn, I'm just not putting that kind of money down for CS.
American Lawman looks interesting though.
+1 on both counts

the Lawman has the right look, others look like toys or are "over the top", flash names or purpose names dont do it for me.

the Land&Sea rescue also appeals to me except for those gawdawfull serrations.
MAKE PLAIN EDGE VERSIONS AVAILABLE AS WELL

90% of the others look "teenage mall ninja" imo, very few CS knives appeal to me. hardly any of the folders.
they strive for that "badarse" look, while they look as daunting as Michael Jackson in "Bad" ... spooflike.
in my opinion.

some nice gadgets tho.

AHH nice look at the fake sebenza.

 ...and it took 7 posts. I was wondering how long it'd take before somebody'd say it. Here comes another "Cold Steel is ripping off somebody else" thread!

I wonder if it'd be at all possible for people to get over themselves for a split second? Probably not. No. It's a folder and it's that dull ass gray color...it's got a lanyard. Well...it MUST be a copy of Chris Reeves' design. Since nobody else is apparently allowed to make a knife in kind of design. Jesus Christ on a tour bus. Is there anybody here above the mental age of 16 yr old jealous highschool girl?!

I too first thought Hackman when I saw the Black Rock, but the idea of dual slipjointed handles sound very interesting to me. I also like the idea of the modernized Douk Douk, it seems like something that tries to change up on the design, rather than just be something that copies the original like the Kudu does.

And it's nice they moved some of the stuff, like the OSS and the mini knives up from 420/krupp steel to aus8.

Not surprised to see the Lites move from titanium to 7075 aluminum handles, with the rising cost of the stuff.

Certainly a lot of unusual stuff this year. Some good user knives, some overpriced but interesting folders, and some ridiculous pointy things for the mall ninja/mucking about with sharp things crowd.

Also, a goddamn Navaja style folder with a 7.5 inch blade. That's a bit much for the old EDC.

Some interesting stuff, nicely photographed too.

That new cheapie, the Finn Wolf, sure is the dead spit of a Normark knife though (the 'Deluxe Hunting' model), right down to the handle profile.

I love it that Cold Steel is the only "mainstream" cutlery company that makes cool stuff like war clubs, throwing stars and sword canes.

In fact, knifesupplycompany.com has about 90% of the Cold Steel 2008 line listed already, with prices.

Do you feel better now? :D

and I am more of an 18 year old jealous college girl in mental age, so there, nyaaa! :grumpy:

Like i said earlier, I really like the Rajah I and the Espada large. The MSRP is $339.00 for each, so you can figure an online price of around $175.00. At that price I could maybe justify one, but I would have to be able to hold it in hand and check it out before I lay any cash on the table!

I really like the Black Rhino clasp knife @ $259.00. So maybe $130.00 on the street? Would still have to handle one first.

I really liked some of the high priced "customs" CS introduced last year or the year before; i.e. Hamato, Black Talon, Caledonian, etc. But after handling a few of them I put them down and never looked back. Even at the reduced price of $200.00+/- they were not up to the workmanship you would expect for that kind of money. Just hope some of these new MEGA folders are.

After all these years, the only one I've got is the 4" El Hombre in PE.
I could go for a couple of the Vaquero Grande without serrations. :(

Dealer website software typically shows anything not in stock as "sold out" including knives that are not yet available. "Sold out" only means the number in stock is zero.

Ah, thanks for that Cougar.
