Terrible experience with SmedleyButler

No completed transaction then no Itrader feedback. A public thread is sufficient.

Due diligence by checking all avenues of feedback (Itrader, GB&U, post history etc) is on you if you plan to partake in the Exchange. Appropriately adding to experiences both positive and negative to Itrader and the GB&U helps everyone.

Right on bench was just asking thanks for the reply

He did ship the knife.

But he didn't get paid, it was half a transaction. Smedley should reimburse the shipping at least for the test driving, tire kicking inconvenience. One thing to note is that this level of tire kicking and backing out can earn infractions. It's something that hasn't been enforced with much vigor because most folks up until recently have been fairly well behaved. There have been a couple of people that enjoy tying up sales threads claiming "I'll take it" and then changing their mind when they secure their item for a lower price elsewhere. It 's a violation of the very first rule for buyers if anyone is interested.

Yeah I just wasn't sure and figured I would ask completely understand the transaction not completed so no feedback warented.

You can tell a lot about people just by reading their posts, how they word things, general tone, reactions, etc...

Smedley Butler is on my ignore list.

As for the OP, it's wonderful to be nice, but you need to keep that in perspective, this is the internet.
Be "nice" to people you know really well on here, otherwise, NEVER ship anyone a knife that they can pay for upon receipt.

Feedback numbers are irrelevant when it comes to doing this.

You need to ask yourself, why would someone want to pay after receipt when PP Goods protects them from any malice anyway...

The only answers I can come up with lead to the reason why Smedley is not an individual I will deal with in the future....

Thank you for your support guys. Proves that reason and logic trumps baseless accusations and needless belittling and disrespect.

If you think about it the whole thing is absurd really. The buyer claims I created an elaborate scam (losing hundreds of dollars in the process by the way) and continued to publicly commit fraud just so that I can send him a cheap fake for his close inspection and scrutiny... without taking a cent of his money. Is this whole thing real or am I having a bad dream?

Sorry I brought you all into this guys. It's 10pm over here and I can't sleep or do anything. Not because of the money or my time but because it's the first time someone accused me of fraud, called me a liar (lying prick actually) and told me off like this for no fault of mine.

Let's not give the mods a hard time guys, it's the weekend, enjoy it. Thank you for your support. I am going to let it be until I either get something back or run out of patience waiting for it.

P.S.: Provided tracking number still shows as not found. What else can go wrong, right?

Sorry to hear about the tracking number but dosent surprise me and the mods Imo are doing well with this. Again man hope this turns out well for you.

Wow. Everytime i think ive seen it all.....im proven wrong. Hope you get your knife back op and all works out..

Regardless of the outcome of this exchange SmedleyButler has made my ignore list. As Donald Trump would say "He is not a nice person." Life is to short for that kind of grief.

Yup, buyers remorse. I bet the other knife he received today was a strider. Reading storys like this make me sick. It's simple, treat others how you'd like to be treated. Something we were all probably told at a young age. I've also added SmedleyButler to my ignore list. Good luck Rounic, I hope the same knife in the same condition is returned.

Give the tracking number time. It doesn't show up in the USPS system immediately. When it is scanned in at the drop off point, then it will show up and be on it's way.

The knife you sent me was packed up and on its way the minute you verified your address. Do what you want with it.

Quoting the above...

I hear you guys regarding the delay but the above post was made over 9 hours ago while my "address verification" to the buyer happened over 12 hours ago. I still have hope (knowing USPS) but no tracking record 12 hours after the item was reported as sent? No scan-in? Nothing?

I know stuff happens and it usually happens at the worst time. All I can do is wait. I just had to put it on record that tracking came up empty last time I checked just in case.

It's possible that he printed a label, packed it up and just tossed the package in a blue box instead of bringing it to a post office window where it would be scanned on the spot.

You might not see any tracking info until it arrives at your local post office.

And even then it can take time to get scanned into and updated in the system.

Tracking lit up. Package accepted at 4:50 PM server time. Explains the delay and then some (read the posts, do the math if you care to). Really tired at this point. Everything points to buyers remorse (at least so I hope).

What exactly happened with the return is debatable (unlike what happened with the sale)... what isn't debatable is this community's commitment, honesty and trustworthiness - while we may get a few bad apples here and there - you guys keep the tree strong and thriving. I will post documentation on whatever it is that I receive.

Huge thanks to the mods, KnifeArt.com, Adam and all of you guys. While I may be out a few bucks - when all is said and done - i pay the price gladly for all the support you've all shown. Please accept my apologies for dragging you into this. Lesson learned.

Rounic , I don't sell anything on BFC or should say I haven't yet. However my wife runs a business from home and I do buy and sell at quite a few place on the net. I will only do business one of two ways and don't want to sound like a broken record. Either with an established trusted client on credit or PayPal goods and services before the transaction I don't even offer the friends and family option. I also take credit cards but that's a whole other story.

In the few instances of trouble we've had PayPal has stood behind and resolved the issue rather quickly. I don't understand why folks in the exchange even offer the F&F option. Every time I see the "net to me" I cringe, just make it the price you want and add the fees. It protects buyer and seller, everybody's happy that way. Rounic this was not be any means a poke a you just some friendly advice and a bit of a rant. I will be sure to put SmedleyButler on ignore.
