You know, I think I'm going to do just that. I didn't even think about keeping the offer from Spartan on the back burner until after the blade is done. The blue on blue has been growing on me more and more, so I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep it like that anyways.

I might give some thought to having the hardware stripped, or anodized a darker blue, or maybe even DLC coated though.

Also... It sure seems like laser engravers have come a long ways! The engraving is so deep and crisp!

In my opinion…if anything, have the hardware polished. If you get it ano’d dark blue, it will take the attention away from the dark blue compass.

Yeah, I just used the metal polish it's resting on and rubbed it down with my fingers for maybe 10-20min. Cold Steel's dlc polishes up like a mirror, and you can see some grind lines in certain light. I saw a video on YouTube of a guy who did it on his American Lawman.

Stonewashed and re-profiled the blade on the Kwaiback.


Sharpened at a 23° angle, with the regrind and using a 50k diamond compound paste on the strop it's razor sharp.


Some of the work I'm currently doing on my Shaman is a test run for more work on the Kwaiback, so far I'm happy with the results.

Just got this 940 reblade from Josh REK Knives a couple of weeks ago. It’s his Harpoon blade shape in CPM Cruwear with a mirror stonewash/grind lines. This is probably my favorite knife at the moment. His work is absolutely incredible and I can only hope to snag one of his mid techs at some point.

Starting on the texturing, hammering away with a .035" ball end punch...

Pheeew...alright, just anodizing and blasting left on this slab. I'm actually waiting on a new blasting cabinet on Thursday, so I'll get started on the lock side while waiting.

Blackened the clip, then sanding it back out to leave some black highlights... then some gold touches and maybe a hammered panel on that 45° angled area
