I actually like that celluloid a lot. If they could offer a new acrylic with scales like that I would be strongly tempted to crack open my wallet, especially in that punch nut pattern.

oh me neither, i didnt take ur comment as complaining though. I do not intend any offense. Personally, these things have been creeping up in price to the point where I will pay only if its a pattern I care a lot about. Some members and other collectors slowly push my gec budget limits gently. However they are pieces I truly want. There are some in my collection that never see the light of day as I tend to usually just carry my modded stuff and even thats gotten too expensive for my liking. These days Ill only commit if I really love the pattern.

I know your reply wasn’t directed at me, but it’s funny you say that. In that I will only buy a knife if I think it will be used. If I think it’s too nice to use, I don’t bother. Lesson learned on a mammoth French folder I’m not game to carry.
I haven’t seen a GEC this year except the viper plum that I liked enough to try for. Failed at the viper anyway! 😂

I carry a knife everyday for work which is why I have a preference for 2 blades. One for work and one for food.

That’s why the GEC 88 is probably my favourite knife they’ve made. Clip gets a workout in the field, lamb for food.

I really dig Charlie’s Waynorth, and if GEC do a lamb this year they’ll both grab me.

anyway I’ve digressed enough. I’ll have to think hard on the forum knife, although Spark doesn’t sound like he’s keen on international shipping so the decision is probably made for me.
 
Man! I don't need a really large, really expensive stockman. No matter how much I want it, lol!

The stockman pattern is a favorite but I use them and that is no working knife. That's a put it on the shelf and play with it occasionally and wipe the fingerprints off kinda knife.

I hope to see lots of good pictures, though!

tell me about it, I went whole hog on those 39s and chasing 2 blades when Im notorious for getting them deleted! I even overpaid a little on the general release just to make sure I got them only to watch some folks quickly dump em cheaper. But yes, i genuinely hope all interested parties are able to get one, wherever they are in the world. Perhaps he will be amenable to state wide members proxying for the international folks.

I can sort that out if needed. I intend to order one but once again rely on a US porch member to forward it on to me...etc...it just saves Spark the extra hassle.😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍
 
Looks like a nice knife but it appears I've been priced out of the pocket knife market by inflation. I'll just have to make the others I own last me. Shouldn't be a problem given how many I own, how old I am, and the fact that I have not worn one out yet.
