The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

As a rule, I do not epoxy scales

It serves no function

It does prevent corrosion under the scales

But that corrosion is of no consequence and it is only an aesthetic issue if you look at it. So don't look at it.

For all practicality a person could accomplish the same thing with Red loctite. If it's only an issue because it is unsightly. Just don't look at it. Because I promise you, it is never going to become a structural issue.

So, as a rule I do not epoxy scales

Because it serves no function

Nathan does Magnacut is a thread from 12/2022 and in the last page of this thread, Nathan responds to a question basically stating that he does not wish to reveal much of anything when it comes to his tweak of MC steel done at PHT. In the video which is the thread's starter, he has marked his two test DEK guineas with black marker pen at 62 and 63 respectively.

Yeah I saw that video and read through that thread. Didn’t see the 63 number at first but now that I watched again I saw it. Thanks

Nathan,
I have a question for you !.... Will there be a preorder for the upcoming FK3 ?...
Thanks for your time and help!...

NMFrank87 AKA Frank Cervantes from New Mexico

It was included in the Basic 5 pre-order. There was the additional option to add a swedge, jimping and internal tang milling making it an “FK3”…

I skipped the preorder for the option of ordering a Basic 5 in the regular sale because that is what you recommended I do in the pre-order post. Is the Basic 5 regular sale still upcoming?

Yes. We will be shipping basic fives to the pre-order and having Friday sales at the same time. I'm making twice as many as were ordered, you should have no problem scoring what you want in a regular sale. This is a good approach because there will be no wait for you.
