There is no need for Magnamax, 3V can do it all. Just change the thickness and edge angle and you will have more edge retention than carbides can give you.

The data are from Knife Steel Nerds but the graph is my own compilation of it, and the dotted lines are from my analysis of the effects of reducing the thickness of a blade proportionally throughout (while keeping the bevel heights the same).

We do the Atlanta blade show every year and we do bring a pretty wide inventory including old patterns. We're going to bring a K18 this year.
