Nice one with the two-tone slabs. Congrats!Arrived today. Awesome knife. So crisp on the snap .this will not be my last shiro but I will have this one til I die. Special meaning to me
The Gen 5 is the first new version to tempt me into replacing my Gen 1. I've got the action on my knife tuned up so well, though, that I'd still be reluctant to let it go despite the new blade style pushing the cumulative generational improvements over the top for me. Plus, I've got a light scratch on my 111's blade which lets me to use it more generally, increasing the pocket time for my pocket sword.I'm patiently waiting for purple 111 gen 5s to drop again.
Ooof, it's truly a tough call. I've purchased 2 clip-slips to carry it now since it's not always appropriate to carry it in the sheath (work). The sheath really does work well, however, and I had it on my belt everyday while on vacation. It will definitely be a game-time decision if I move it.The Gen 5 is the first new version to tempt me into replacing my Gen 1. Just curious, but wondering if you'll let your 111 "camp knife" go if you can grab a Gen 5. Knowing you, I'd guess that'll be a yes if you're pleased enough with the new model.
Congrats! After an extended tour with the USPS, the Pero arrived. Been on my want list for 2 years....
This knife is soooo sublime.
