Hey everyone,

Been busy caring for an elderly parent and haven’t been that active. But just wanted to get back into sharing with you all.
I have read many pages over the last few days. More than 70 I’m sure. And man there have been some amazing pics posted.

Got this one next to my turtle for the new year.

I missed on these when first listed and asked Recon1 if they’d be getting more in the future. A few days later they reached out and said they had an order cancellation if I’d like to jump on it and I’m absolutely thrilled I did because the build quality on this knife is outstanding!

OK, Phil, I'll play. We didn't get as much snow on the outer Cape as you did in Central Mass and it's always colder where you are, but I've got 6" plus a lot of drifting here with temps in the mid-teens--wicked cold for us. I went with the Turtle for three days running, keeping the house warm with wood while without power for 36 hours, and shot this pic after gassing up the generator mid-afternoon on a cold but sunny day.

As much as I appreciate the higher level models, none of them "speak" to me as much as the NL. Light, stout, tremendous slicer (FFG devoid of flats = most acute geometry), nearly sterile blade, grippy inlays yet svelte in/out of the pocket (with no shred), and I even prefer the internal lock-cutout (aesthetically at least). The inlays provide the means of weight-reduction cutouts (instead of gutting the inside of the scales), but otherwise it is such a "straightforward" design, devoid of any unnecessary embellishment, yet produced at the HIGHEST level of quality and frankly insane tolerances. This is MY Shiro - I LOVE this model.
