The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

Try rollers… those are a PAIN but i mean a PAIN to put each roller back in their slot. Half of the time you will miss and its a trial and error for all slots
Yes! Putting my 110KS back together wasn't happening until I figured out a magnetized dental pick could kind of line them up enough to wiggle them in. Took forever!

Added another one finally. These are the only two Shiros I have wanted, life is good.

Looking at a number of new Ursus knives here plus Tom's pics on the other forum certainly planted the seed, but my latest purchase was greatly influenced by my time with the NL World Tour knife and seeing a bunch 95NL's here lately oddly got me to pull the trigger on my own Quantum Ursus NL. I'm really taken with Shiro offering more modest versions of their serial production models, but as much as I like the F95NL--especially those two "Merlots"that showed up here recently--I already have two F95s and a Hati, so I went with something different.

I expect this one will eventually settle in as a work user, but for now we're still honeymooning.

Just got this one in the mail today. Was initially hesitant (about the inlay and size), but have been pleasantly surprised. In short - I like it.

Steve, Nice knife! Is yours the KC Edition?
The current photo on the KC website shows this knife with a blade with no jimping, and yours has jimping, which I like!
Assume since they're an AD and a sponsor here on BF I can paste this link. If this is verboten somebobdy please LMK and I will delete it.

I have been hanging out and learning a lot here over the past month or two, and started collecting Shiros as a result. Here's a pic of my "turtle" - an earlier version on single row bearings - and a current F3 and 111 Gen 5 in purple and blue CF respectively. I have four other Bears inbound from various sources and will post more pix as they arrive. I am sure spending some coin, but I am happy and content! Thanks to ChazzyP ChazzyP for starting this excellent thread!47C99A56-6AD5-4728-AE38-827F44B111BA.jpeg

Yes, it is a KC edition but I believe it is an older version. The jimping and logo are the variations from what I can tell. It is really smooth and quickly becoming a preferred carry. I have seen a couple others like it but not many.

With all of the "fuzzy" border issues: do you think that will make these knives tough to get?

The last couple years, Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , shipping direct to US customers from Russia has been pretty slow. It's generally taken the better part of a week for my Russian Post packages from Pavlovo (Cheburkov and Biryukov) to mosey along to clear Customs just north of Moscow in Khimki and then even EMS can sit in a black hole at Sheremetyevo Airport for 2-3 weeks. For your sake, I certainly hope things have changed for the better and your time estimate plays out as you expect.

For my part, today was a Tabargan Tuesday with my old school 100NS in G10 and 440C. Back in its day, that model feature two lines--one more modest like my present knife and another featuring contoured scales, higher-end steels, and upgraded detailing. Some years later, Shirogorov now offers two tiers of versions in F3's, F95's, and 111's.
