Yes, custom scales. Made by Valery. His IG name: dept_13_knives.
He had to shorten the pivot and all the screws, because scales a lot tinner [emoji6] [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106]

It is an awesome knife indeed had the Neon Lite with S90V but sold it cause it was a bit smaller than my liking. But if I had a choice I would take the Neon Lite in a regular 95's size. The blade shape is better imo compared to the FFG 95's

Hey Vlad since my F3 has flats on top I wanna polish them. Wanna try using my Wicked Edge ceramic stones have the 1200-1600 and the 1.4-0.6 micron. They are not as wide as the blade but I think I can work it. Any suggestions? Also for completeness sake if I polish the entire flats even the area that is hidden (pivot area). Do you think it will affect the tolerances much? gonna use the finest grit (the 0.6 micron only) then maybe strop if needed?

I used Diamond lapping paste. Try not to use any stones. All you need is: flat surface (glass or mirror) and lapping paste. If you want mirror - use 5.0 and lower. For satin finish: anything from 20 and lower.

Let me get this straight.

Use a mirror- spray some diamond paste and left to right move the flat side

Yes. Mirror or glass (you can attach a piece of paper to it, with a masking tape). Use really small amount of diamond lapping paste. Put masking tape on one side of the blade (easier to hold). And move that blade up and down or right and left (depends what satin finish you are looking for) [emoji6] [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji812] [emoji812] [emoji812]

Thanks for the input. Me thinks it's a little too delicate of a process to go alone. I will more than likely send er in for a tuneup. I'll keep ya posted.

Just fired off an email.

I received an email today from shirogorov. They said due to the fine tuning of the action I would have to send the whole knife in to be serviced.

I was hoping to just send the lock side to fitted with a new detent. I had some issues getting it up north in the first place, nevermind the added risk entering and leaving Russia.

It will be a stressful wait if I do send it, also I will more than likely get it sent to the states on return, and I'll make a road trip to pick it up in person rather than have it labeled an automatic again by Canadian customs via mail.

Ughh

I miss my shiro..

Stressful indeed, Marcus. Just the thought of sending one of my Bears back to the Mother Country makes me nervous. Have you thought to try contacting any Stateside or Canadian knife makers or service providers to see if they might take the job on?

That's an idea I haven't thought about.. hmm maybe Rod Olson would able to fix me up. I know he makes some incredible flippers.

Thanks for the thoughts.
