, we also have
The Cheburkov Channel here for Aleksandr's knives which I started just about four years ago. The Den will be at seven years this fall and is about ten times the size in posts/pages as The Channel, Shiro's apparently being way more popular or at least more well known. (I was amazed when looking for those stats that we've had over a half-million views at this thread.).
I've looked to keep the discussions of each maker's knives to their separate threads as each have their own design aesthetic (within what might be broadly described as a certain "Russian style", though I know that's perhaps too broad a characterization) and are of impeccable quality, each featuring their own evolutions and innovations. I'd hate to see lot of argument about which is "better", or even worse, "worse". I enjoy both greatly.
Anyway, as you asked, I'd be hard pressed to pick just one of my six Chebs, though I could start by narrowing it down to three, maybe. The knife in The Channel's OP, the red CTek Voron, is both a beauty and somewhat special to me as it was made to order for its blade finish, corresponding with
Aleksandr with Marina translating after an introduction through Vlad P. It is a little long and pointy for usual EDC perhaps. My newest Leader Lightweight has the same very cool CF linerless linerlock construction as my small Strizh, is incredibly light, especially since removing the backspacer, and has an excellent blade profile. I'm carrying that one today. I guess, for EDC, I'd have to pick my Pyramid-milled Scout, my first Cheburkov and one that's quite like my F95 Turtle, my most-carried Shiro, in size, heft, and action. The Scout has just the right size for me, a gorgeously milled blade, and has gradually developed the most wear of all my Chebs.
OK, there's a whole three paragraphs of me violating my own posting maxim for the two threads. Oh well....
