The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

I haven't been over this way for some time as the Shiro side of my Russian drawer has somehow sat untouched for a while. I got my F95R out and into my pocket today and had a couple spare pics so I figured I'd catch up here and post here too. Maybe this'll get the rest of the sleuth out for a day-by-day week's plus worth of carry.

I have been eyeing those Halloween Hati’s over the last couple of weeks and I’ll say I was getting pretty close to buying one but I’m glad I was able to hold out for the Stellar to finally pop up. I really love the F95 Zero and this run of Stellar should pair nicely to it with a similar look.

I'm curious to see what happens because it did the same thing for me after I purchased... Maybe it's the limit per customer thing? What time did you buy yours?
 
Has anyone had recon1 send a confirmation only to find out they didn't have it? Curious of multiple Stellars came over or if it was only one
 
The Stellar looks like a good one and congrats to all who have one on the way. My RDD is my mid-size Shiro despite the fact that it has a 98 mm blade (a plus in these eyes) it's an amazingly light, compact, and pocket-friendly piece that makes a great EDC when I want something "less filling".

I've long been a fan of fluted and milled Ti handles, but really love the silk milling on this one...

Whoever snagged a Stellar is going to be a very happy person when it arrives! I can’t say it enough that among my decent Shiro collection, the Stellar reigns supreme. It just seems to be a level above all the other production models by a long shot, the action is just so phenomenal. This is why I was so bummed to win the lotto last week for the CCKS version and then have R1 somehow not receive my email. I figured it would take a really cool version of the Stellar to get me to buy a second one (I wasn’t planning to go for a standard M390 one like yesterday’s drop), and then boom, they drop that beautiful bronze Sinkevich version! I also really needed that tool with those crazy bits since I also have a Bio. Anyway, you can tell I’m over it! But seriously, to those who scored one yesterday, congratulations and please report in on your impressions of the Stellar. I’m guessing they’ll be astronomical! (Dad joke, sorry…).

Beautiful. I had the full Ti and the Arctic versions but had to sell them. Great knives.

Thanks. I like mine a lot. Even though it's not the snappiest flipper it still comes out reliably and easily. I first fell in love with the all-Ti RDD when the initial model was released. I leeched and posted a picture of one on Page 3 here not long after I started this thread back in 2016, but I never found one at a price I was willing to pay. I'm perfectly happy with my CF version, though, so I think things worked out for the best.

Too bad you had to sell your two--I remember checking them out in your posts (under your former username--or was that just a different avatar?) more than once and you mentioning to Mr.sig239 Mr.sig239 that you wanted a CF one as well to complete your trifecta. IIRC the original model was S90V, right?

I did take an awful lot of pics yesterday.... ;)

I didn't realize how many differences there are between the the Ti and Arctic versions until recently. Arctic has a newer captive pivot system that makes it a little easier to flip (I find it better to push on the point of the flipper like a button rather than use it as a lever) and speed holes that are the same size on both sides. It removes some of my regret that I was only able to get the Arctic rather than the original! Oh well, I'm pretty happy with my DD collection as it stands.
