The blade was defective when it came - who's responsible to make it right?

That's not true. Look at the current housing situation. Buyers freely paid the amount the houses were worth to them, with no regard to the actual value. Even if recent selling prices were a guide, people grossly overpaid. Recent selling prices don't help to determine value, just the worth to the last buyer.

You are correct, but many of us would like to know the recent selling prices of a given model when we go to list one of our own for sale. For no particulary good reason, IMO, more and more people are removing prices after they sell a knife. What was once a rarity just a few years ago has somehow become way too common. :thumbdn::grumpy:

But that's another thread.

You know, if you all hate the guy so much, you could just rat him out to PayPal for requesting the personal option or charging >$. Both are done to circumvent paying their fees and I hear they take a really dim view of that.

I'm just sayin'...

You still haven't looked up the true definitions of value or worth, but even if we use your personal definitions what you are stating is not correct. If the "value" of the house isn't what was paid "then" and isn't even the more recent price, then what exactly is it? Based on what, exactly?

Value is what something is worth to someone. Two years ago, houses were in demand and so people were willing to pay more for them- they had to if they wanted one. The value of houses was high. Now, they are a glut on the market and their value is low. Same house. People are willing to take less for their house- they have to if they want to sell it. Markets go up and markets go down, buyers and sellers constantly determine value on an ongoing basis.

If I am understanding you, you seem to feel that there is some intrinsic or basic value to the house (or whatever) that has nothing to do with the price someone is willing to pay for it, is that correct? How do you calculate that?

Still curious as to why Liu Kang isn't divulging the history on that BATAC in his sale thread.

He should, Mr Billman resharpens knives only one way, the right way  LK, does deal with a alot of knives, maybe he forgot or simply cant tell as Mike looks to have kept the original lines but just gave it a little extra lovin, not all would notice. Then again, maybe he knows no one will complain becasue it is better than the original edge

Oh and as for removing prices, if you see LK bought it, just go to his sale thread and see what he has it marked at, than subtract 25%+ then you will get a good idea of what it sold for
