The BladeForums 2022 Traditional Knife Thread

I managed to score these as follows.

1. Forum Purchase.
2. On the Exchange.
3. S Model, from Gunstock Jacks.
4. Gifted one.

Sometimes, it helps to reach out, rather than speculate. After all, some of us here exchange numbers and actually talk to one another, instead of engaging in these threads (hence the gift). The knife community is much larger than this forum, as I have met some of my favorite people here, however it’s silly to accuse someone of flipping/having and eBay store because they have four of one knife.

So it’s not flipping to buy knives with the sole intention to trade for “the rarest knives”?

I’m glad you’re not flipping, by your own definition of that term. But don’t take it personally that folks here on the porch are touchy. The general expectation is one knife/one member and the expectation is that this member will be a regular contributor on this forum. The optics aren’t great when one person ends up with 4. I hope you enjoy your knives!

Bradley89 Bradley89 , you as a mod/ admin of a known (Flipper's Paradise) FB Exchange/Auction group, did you sell/ auctioned or traded them for “the rarest knives” (most expensive is pretty similar to say)?

That’s nice, but my impression is that this knife is meant to celebrate people who do engage in “these threads” and who are members of “this forum”. Not to say the larger knife community can’t also be celebrated, but that’s not the purpose of this offering.

So yes, by collecting a bunch of the rarest knife you do go against the spirit of the thing IMO and take knives away from other members who are a part of this community.
 
Full transparency, I ordered one of the leftovers. Was about 45min after Spark said there were 5 left, and was very surprised my order went thru, as I figured they were all gone. My purpose for doing so was in the hopes of possibly trading for a 2019 someday, or to offer to someone worthy that missed out on both sales.

Spark Spark , if you feel I should not receive a second knife, I am totally ok with that (as long as I get a refund 😁 ).

Good ol' 496 arrived a few moments ago. Thanks Charlie and Spark. Excellent size, f&f, ebony. Love the brushed/satin finish. I had to grab the tool on a handy Lionsteel to get the tube open. Never had to do that before, That puppy was in there tight.
