The Club and Improvised weapons thread (Post your Handy work!)

Crow bars are nice, but are designed for prying. I find the pick appealing because I can pierce THEN pry, and if I mod it with a four-pronged hammer face it'll rip chunks out of stuff too. Plus it'll just be FUN! :D

Try a Halligan entry tool.
Piercing? Yep.... Prying? Yep.... Bashing? Oh Yeah!
I use one in the FD. Taking down a door or going through a wall is short work.
Back mounted scabbard maybe?

But Halligan tools are HEAVY. And EXPENSIVE. I don't need one that badly! :D

It arrived today! Definitely going to have fun with this one!

Just a quick pic for now. I'll be bringing the pick to a slightly finer point. The verdict is still out on whether or not I'll mod the face of it, as the hammer face is already small (about 1" square) :)

I carved them from thick branches. I've made others from root balls. The one with a antler tine spike is cherry and the other is oak.

What I did in this case was square off the material, shape the ball, then move down the handle. It takes about a month.

Well kudos man those are beyond awesome, about how big does the branch have to be?

Depends on how big a ball you want on the club;) and also the shape of the cross section of the branch. It's common to find one with just the right form for a nice sized ball and a raised area behind it for that part of the handle.

Well I have a new friend. This is the “Graymatter tomahawk” made by Dan Stanchfield (Tracker Dan), he sent it to me to last week to try it out.

This thing is all business .

“Graymatter tomahawk” Had to read that twice before it sank in. Looks like a serious contender to the "bad guys"
You be safe down there Brother......Randy

I dont have any war clubs, But I've had these since I was 12. I had begun training with them and was about a month in when we had to move to the west coast.
