The Club and Improvised weapons thread (Post your Handy work!)

Edwood, what are the blades made from in your Improvised bat Macuahuitl?
that looks like a pretty wicked weapon

I have an old hickory (I think) axe handle that I found, it was broken with only about the top 18 inches or so, I smoothed out the broken parts a bit, made a paracord handle wrap, and then wrapped it with electrical tape (I don't know why), if I can ever find it again, i'm gonna remove the tape and make it look good. I will post pictures if I can find it

I never should have opened this thread up.....now I have lots of ideas going through my head.

Once I get done with exams, I am gonna make an impact weapon of some sort over the summer.
I figure you guys might be interested in this, please comment on the idea if you like/dislike it.

I am wanting to get a 1/4 inch steel threaded rod. I will put a large washer and bolt on the bottom, then stack denim, canvas or some other fabric washers on it. soak it with epoxy and then use another big washer and bolt to compress it like you would micarta. From there, I will shape it with sandpaper into the shape of an old style billy club, removing the bolts and washers if possible, so there is only the steel rod and epoxy soaked fabric (i am really liking canvas right now).

I would end up with a shape close to this

( I also want to track one of these down)

I found this one in an old police office down in Mexico city. Dont know much about it. It lives in my office now.

Machete blades.

I'm almost finished with this custom walking stick.
It needs buffed and a final coat of floor Poly.

Stick is a small live oak tree that I cut years ago and have had in the barn curing.
Ball is also a bigger oak limb that has been in the barn for a while.

I received a small, cheap lathe for my birthday and this was the first thing I made.

It's 4'4" tall. The ball is 3.75" in diameter.
The two pieces are attached by a 5/16x3.5" lag bolt glued into the ball
That way it can be unscrewed and used, and you'll still have the stick.

I have a pair of desert ironwood billy clubs from arizona desert ironwood. I'll have to post pics when I get home. Heavy bastards, they are. I also have a jo staff made from brazilian bulletwood. Nice stuff.

I keep a US Army 36-inch riot control stick in my home office, next to my desk. I got it from Sportsman's Guide as I knew the late COL Rex Applegate who designed it. On my walks I use a 50-inch, laminated wood walking stick I got from Duluth Hardware some 10 years ago, helps me over rough ground and more than strong enough to use as an impact weapon. John

How the hell do you keep the head on there after a good bash?
The reducing nipple is screwed on and epoxied. Then a steel wedge was driven into the shaft like you would for an axe or sledge That baby isn't going anywhere. I also epoxied the hell out of the cap and torqued it down tight.

made this Mace for my wife out of nothing but pink cord and old AR15 parts....

a shot out barrel, barrel nut, three barrel nut lock rings, and a cut compensator.

I never posted this, but Eric inspired me a while back... only difference is a 2'' pipe, I think it'll be stronger. Not half as pretty as either of the two up here though. Nice work!
