The Cold Steel AD10 is the best knife money can buy.

BTW I bought an AD-10 for my son last Christmas (birthday?), so I agree that it’s a great knife, but I consider my XL Talwar “better” than the AD-10 for my uses, because:
No steel liners so it’s lighter/faster for it’s size
Longer, trailing point blade is better for SD
Thumb-stud “wave” feature (had to add a wave to the AD-10)

I think the Talwar would beat the AD-10 in pure cutting efficiency as well, while the AD-10 would pry/demolish stuff better…

Both great knives, but not the best for everything/everyone imho.

Processing animals?
Excellent question. For any big game like deer, the AD10 would be the best, but if you are dressing smaller game, then a PM2 with a finer tip would probably be better. When I say smaller game, I mean doves, quail, squirrels, and small ducks.

handle length is a little short for my hands
I can understand this could be a problem for the XL+ hand , because the handle does enclose the hand both front and back of the handle .

Provides very secure grip , but is size sensitive .

Lucky for me , for my hands the fit is near perfect with a little extra room for gloves .

I admire your candor, Wolverine. It is precisely the kind of stimulating knife debate I'd hoped to find here on Blade Forums.
Well…when one titles a thread with what they consider to be “fact” rather than opinion , you should be prepared for all kinds of responses. Blanket statements and speaking in absolutes is ignorant and insulting (and “ridiculous”, see what I did there?). Haha.

The AD-10 is probably one-of-the-best models, within the Cold Steel branding, along with the 4 Max. A few others within their marques are the: Spyderco Chinook, Benchmade Adamas, Zero Tolerance 0300, and SOG SEAL XR. "Best of" lists are subjective at the very least. It's always interesting to hear the choices of fellow knife afficianadoes.
